Chapter 3 Solve Personal Problems First

  • Just their presence alone made the women present feel ashamed of their own appearance and stirred the blood of the men, making them restless and hot all over.
  • When they walked in, their beauty was beyond comparison, captivating all who saw them.
  • One of them was leaning on a cane.
  • But compared to these two, Riley was like a duck compared to a swan.
  • They were naturally Penny and Leah, who came chasing after Ethan.
  • The onlookers who had been watching the commotion couldn't help but exclaim.
  • "Wow, such beauties! No wonder they call the women in the King family the belles of Emberhold."
  • "Yeah, seeing two of them in one day, the heavens are truly kind to me."
  • "Even if they were just in ordinary clothes, Riley couldn't catch up even if she wore a wedding dress."
  • "But I didn't expect the Lewises to have such face, to actually be able to invite people from the Kings to celebrate."
  • The conversations in the crowd made Riley's face turn pale and then dark.
  • Michael was quick to get up from his seat and rushed over to Penny.
  • "Ms. King! Your presence here really lights up the place. We should have welcomed you sooner!"
  • Even a four-star family like the Baxters had the Lewises bending over backwards, so imagine how they'd react to the five-star health and beauty giant, the Kings.
  • Moreover, they heard that Penny had some connection with the Kings in Brightvale, but that wasn't something they could know.
  • They knew one thing for sure: you don't want to get on the wrong side of the Kings!
  • "Hey kid, get lost! You're in the way!" Michael shoved Ethan roughly as he walked by, then stretched out his hands towards Penny from a distance.
  • But Penny and Leah completely ignored him, just turned their bodies and walked past without a glance.
  • This awkward scene left Michael feeling humiliated, especially because it happened in front of everyone.
  • Alfred hurriedly stepped forward with a smile.
  • "Ms. King, I'm from the Baxters ... "
  • "Get lost!"
  • Before he could finish his sentence, Penny's domineering attitude scared him off!
  • The Penny now was nothing like the blushing, coy person she had been around Ethan.
  • Her dominance made everyone there feel uneasy.
  • Apart from her looks, Penny was a legend in Emberhold known for her ruthless methods.
  • But what shocked them even more was when Penny and her companion approached Ethan and suddenly smiled.
  • "Mr. Bennett, we've finally found you."
  • This instantly silenced the entire scene of the wedding reception.
  • Michael felt like struck by lightning, hands frozen in mid-air. Weren't the Kings came to congratulate their family?
  • Alfred was wide-eyed with astonishment. These two gorgeous women are smiling at a beggar? Why?
  • Riley's face burned with embarrassment. What did she say just now? Ethan's luck was only for him to catch a whiff of her scent and no other woman paid attention to him.
  • Then, what are these two gorgeous women, who were overshadowing her?
  • Suddenly, everyone recalled what Penny had said when she first arrived. Were these two belles really here for Ethan?
  • Riley couldn't believe it and blurted out, "No way, Ms. King, are you mistaken? He's just a dirty beggar ... "
  • Smack!
  • Before she could finish, Leah slapped Riley hard across the face.
  • That slap was merciless!
  • But ...
  • Ethan furrowed his brow. There was something off about how that slap, like it was meant for someone else to witness ...
  • "Mr. Bennett is a close friend of my aunt. Dare to insult her again and see what happens!" Leah said angrily.
  • Ethan's brow furrowed even more. That sounds weird!
  • A close friend of my aunt? Why does that sound so odd?
  • He seemed to have a clash of personalities with this feisty princess!
  • Penny chuckled to herself. It seemed Leah still wasn't happy with Ethan.
  • Meanwhile, Riley, unexpectedly becoming the punching bag, covered her face and suddenly turned around.
  • "Y-you hit me? You filthy b—"
  • Smack!
  • Before she could finish her sentence, she received another slap. This one was even harder, causing blood to trickle from Riley's mouth.
  • It was Michael who slapped her.
  • "Shut your mouth! Do you want to die?"
  • Those words, if spread, could crush the Lewises under the Kings's heel.
  • But they all stared at Leah in bewilderment.
  • "Miss King, you said he's a friend of the Kings?"
  • "Don't involve me. He's friends with my aunt," Leah said, turning her head away.
  • If it weren't for her father, she wouldn't have come at all.
  • After hearing what the Lewises said, she felt even more suspicious about this man.
  • This just left everyone even more puzzled. What exactly is their relationship?
  • Penny also felt somewhat helpless about Leah's attitude towards Ethan.
  • Leah was usually easy to get along with. She sponsored no fewer than five thousand impoverished students and helped build no fewer than ten welfare homes. She even found time to visit lonely elderly people.
  • Why did she have such strong objections about Ethan?
  • But knowing there was still an urgent matter at hand, Penny had to quickly turn to Ethan.
  • "Mr. Bennett, I have something to discuss with you. Can we talk outside?"
  • "Sure." Ethan nodded.
  • With the marriage agreement torn up and the engagement issues settled, there was no longer any need for him to stay.
  • Hearing Ethan agree, Leah quickly walked ahead, and Penny, feeling helpless, had no choice but to invite Ethan with her cane.
  • As Ethan reached the door, he halted for a moment.
  • "Michael, my master originally told me to protect your Lewises for another twenty years.
  • "But now, consider this a piece of advice: start preparing for the funeral. You're the highest in rank, so you'll be the first."
  • After saying that, Ethan left the Lewises Residence.
  • After Ethan and the ladies left for a while, the Lewises' anger flared instantly.
  • "D*mn, what's his problem? Cursing at our grandpa like that?"
  • "I can tell Miss King doesn't like him at all, and Penny doesn't seem to know him either. There's definitely something fishy going on."
  • "He's such a good actor, using others' influence!"
  • Michael narrowed his eyes, feeling his heart beat strangely.
  • Riley and Alfred were seething with anger towards both Ethan and Leah.
  • They had never felt so embarrassed before.
  • ...
  • Over in Penny's car, Ethan was already seated.
  • "Mr. Bennett, what did you mean when you said Michael is going to be the first?" Penny asked curiously.
  • "The Lewises's ancestral prosperity tomb has turned bad. Michael is the oldest among them, so he's the first in line to face the consequences. The rest of the Lewises won't escape either," Ethan explained calmly.
  • "Hah, acting like he's some kind of hero," scoffed Leah, who was behind the wheel.
  • He is young, but he talk like a scammer.
  • She started to think her aunt was acting weird because that jerk was messing with her.
  • I'll keep a close eye on this jerk. If anything weird happened in the Kings, I'm going to kill him!
  • Ethan, on the other hand, didn't care much about Leah's attitude. He was so into staring at Leah that his frown got deeper and deeper!
  • In the end, he was so engrossed that he couldn't help but reach out and yank a handful of Leah's hair.
  • "Argh!"
  • The sudden pain made Leah go numb all over, nearly losing her cool.
  • "Are you crazy?" Leah was enraged.
  • But from the moment Ethan touched the hair, he was stunned like a statue, and then he couldn't stop trembling all over
  • The two women found this behaviour really odd.
  • Leah was creeped out.
  • "Aunt Penny, look at him. He's a total weirdo!"
  • Penny was also taken aback, especially since she was sitting right next to Ethan.
  • "Pure form! You have a pure form physique?" Ethan exclaimed with visible excitement, his hands shaking.
  • No wonder he had sensed the pure form aura at the foot of the mountain.
  • He even suspected if his master had planned the perfect timing to kick him out—it was too lucky.
  • Leah was the pure form who could potentially save his life.
  • But soon, his smile faded. The more he looked at Leah, the more uneasy he felt.
  • Why?
  • Why does she have the pure form physique?
  • This feisty princess who clashed with me at every turn!
  • "Aunt Penny, he's gone crazy, he's gone mad. Please hurry, get him off!" Leah quickly stopped the car.
  • She felt like Ethan's eyes were devouring her.
  • Penny impulsively grabbed Ethan's hands, "Mr. Bennett, calm down. What's gotten into you all of a sudden?"
  • Ethan snapped out of it abruptly, forcefully suppressing his emotions. This matter needs careful consideration.
  • "Oh, sorry, I just remembered something else. Weren't you looking for me about something? What's the matter? Tell me."
  • After Ethan brought up the topic, Penny and Leah's expressions changed.
  • Penny didn't respond directly but quickly urged Leah.
  • "Let's drive back quickly, time is running out."
  • Leah bit her lip. Despite her reluctance, she had to go back first and discuss it later.
  • Meanwhile, Penny faced Ethan.
  • "Mr. Bennett, we still have some time before we reach the King Residence. How about you help me with a personal matter first?"
  • As she spoke, Penny slowly undid the buttons on her clothes, leaning forward slightly, revealing a deep cleavage.
  • The buttons continued to be undone, one by one ...
