Chapter 14 Joaquin's Fury

• Zayla had seen Joaquin angry before. He was usually distant, almost detached, even in moments of rage. Today, though, his fiery temper surpassed anything she had ever expected. What sparked Joaquin's intense fury? Was it me bringing up divorce? Or does he mistakenly suspect me of having an affair, like him?
• Joaquin sat in silence, his posture relaxed yet his gaze piercing. Bloodshot eyes held a hint of pity, like a wounded creature, as he glanced at the woman. "Why bring up divorce out of the blue?" His recent behavior towards her and his current tone could easily lead an outsider to assume she was the one cheating and being violent towards him.
• Zayla felt a surge of anger, nearly bursting into laughter. She straightened up, defensively covering her neck. "Joaquin, haven't you always wanted to divorce me and openly pursue Melanie? I'm granting your wish, so why the hesitation?"
