Chapter 18 A Robbery

  • Francis broke out in a cold sweat. Had he not dodged in time, that arrow could have torn through his gut, causing severe injury.
  • At that moment, a teasing laugh echoed from behind. “You sure know how to dodge quickly.”
  • Francis glanced back in anger, spotting two young men standing by the cave's entrance. They were both around twenty, one dressed in green, the other in purple. It was clear that the one in purple held the authority, with the green-clad youth standing by his side like a servant. Both men wore expressions of arrogance as they stared at Francis. The youth in green even held a huge bow in his hand.
  • Francis said coldly, “Was it you who ambushed me just now?”
  • The young man in the green outfit didn't even bother to respond to him. Instead, he turned to the youth in the purple outfit and chuckled. “Ha! Sir, we've run into a dumb*ss. I'm the one holding the bow. Who else could have shot the arrow? He's not even worth your time to deal with!”
  • The young man in the purple robe smirked coldly, lifted his chin with an air of arrogance, and disdainfully said, “Drop the wolf cubs. I'll spare your life. Now scram!”
  • The tone of his speech was as if those wolf cubs belonged to him.
  • Francis' eyes narrowed, his voice cold as he said, “Are you robbing me?”
  • “Rob you?” The youth in the green robe scoffed. “When this young master here wants something of yours, it's a mark of respect. Do you even know who this young master is?”
  • Francis shook his head. “I don't know.”
  • “He is the only son of the inner sect elder of Evergreen Sect, with a cultivation level of Sky Gate Realm Level Six!” The young man in green laughed wildly.
  • Evergreen Sect was a major sect within Evergreen Mountain Range. Its influence was vast, rivaling that of Quadriga Sect.
  • “Are you not going to hand them over yet?” The young man in purple grew impatient, waving his hand dismissively. “I'll count to three. If you don't give them up by then, I'll take your life.”
  • “One—”
  • No sooner had he finished counting than Francis hastily put down his bundle. He took two steps forward and said, “All right. I'm leaving them to you. Let me go.”
  • The young man in purple shot a glance at the other in green. Both of them subtly shifted toward the wall, making way for a path.
  • Francis briskly advanced toward the cave entrance. However, just as he reached the pair, the youth in the purple robe suddenly roared, “Die!”
  • He threw a merciless punch toward Francis, and at the same time, the youth in green, armed with a huge arrow, aimed for Francis' waist.
  • As it turned out, the two had never intended to let Francis go. They planned to murder him and seize his treasures.
  • However, what they didn't anticipate was that Francis was thinking along the same lines.
  • He wouldn't easily let the things he had in his grasp be snatched away by the young man in the purple robe. His plan was to feign weakness and then approach the two, seizing the opportunity to unleash Palm of Light.
  • All three of them had ulterior motives.
  • The moment the young man in purple made his move, Francis determined that his strength was at Sky Gate Realm Level Six.
  • This punch carried the force equivalent to two thousand pounds.
  • A chill ran through him. The opponent was at Sky Gate Realm Level Six, a level higher than him, a rarity even in the outer sect of Quadriga Sect. Yet, Francis was not afraid. He knew he possessed the strength to challenge those beyond his level.
  • He let out a bellow, his hand glowing brightly as he conjured Palm of Light. His blow landed heavily on the fist of the young man in the purple robe, shattering the vital energy that was concentrated there. His attack continued its course, crashing into the young man's fist. A cry of agony escaped from the young man in the purple robe as his fist and forearm bones were shattered to pieces, a sight too gruesome to bear.
  • It was a contest between Sky Gate Realm Level Five and Sky Gate Realm Level Six.
  • When two thousand pounds of force clashed with three thousand three hundred pounds, Francis came out victorious.
  • The young man in the purple attire felt an overwhelming force washing over him, akin to the relentless onslaught of a mighty river, crushing him completely.
  • Francis took a step forward, launching another strike of Palm of Light. The young man in the purple robe was sent flying, spitting out blood.
  • The young man in the purple robe yelled in disbelief, “How could this be? I'm at Sky Gate Realm Level Six! How could you possibly defeat me? What kind of martial skill is this?”
  • He had never witnessed such a powerful martial skill before. The golden palm was extremely formidable and robust. He felt as if he had been struck by a mountain.
  • Francis scoffed, his Palm of Light striking the huge arrow of the youth in green. The huge metallic arrow was broken in half from the impact. The youth was taken aback, hastily retreating, but it was too late. Francis had hit him square in the head. His skull shattered like a smashed watermelon, bursting open. He was dead beyond doubt.
  • Francis approached the young man in purple.
  • At that moment, the young man in the purple robe was still grumbling, “If you dare lay a finger on me, Evergreen Sect will surely hunt you down until your last breath!”
  • “Let them come, then!” Francis sneered coldly, his hand forming a seal. With Palm of Light, he shattered the chest of the young man in the purple robe.
  • The young man in the purple robe stared intently at Francis, his eyes wide open even in death. He hadn't expected that Francis would actually dare to kill him.
  • With a cold smirk, Francis turned around and packed those wolf cubs into a cloth sack. After that, he walked over to the young men in the purple and green outfits, rummaging through their belongings for a while.
  • Well, would you look at that? Three middle-grade spiritual stones! No doubt, he's the son of Evergreen Sect's inner sect elder. His wealth is truly substantial! Such a rich guy! Francis held the three middle-grade spiritual stones in his hand, a wave of joy washing over him. These spiritual stones, each about two inches in size, were crystal clear and filled with a dense spiritual energy that made it clear they were not ordinary. The functionality of middle-grade spiritual stones was similar to that of low-grade ones, but the amount of spiritual energy they contained was far greater. The spiritual energy within a single middle-grade spiritual stone was equivalent to fifty times that of the spiritual stones Francis had used before.
