Chapter 6 Dare You Face Me In A Duel
- With a cold huff, Targon took a long look at Connor before turning around and walking away.
- Looking at Connor arrogantly, Kain threatened ominously, “Connor, I promise you that this is only the start of your fall from grace. Let me tell you this—you might just end up dead! Who knows, while you battle a demonic beast one day, a blow out of nowhere will end your life!”
- “Then, there's you.” He turned to Francis. “From now on, you're stripped of your monthly resources! Once Connor is gone, I'd see how you could continue acting cocky, you good-for-nothing!”
- “How dare you! Don't push your luck!” Connor snarled.
- At just that moment, Francis let out a soft chuckle, a look of disdain crossing his face.
- “Why are you laughing, you good-for-nothing?” Kain demanded angrily.
- “I'm laughing because you're the real loser!”
- Replying to him disdainfully, Francis continued with a sneer, “Back then, you challenged my master because you were older and higher in cultivation. Nonetheless, he beat you soundly. Even when his meridians were destroyed completely later on, you were still no match for him! You only dare to act tough in front of someone younger, like me. Haha, how impressive. Truly, you're impressive! Also, all these years since my master passed away, no one guided me in cultivating. Your son, Sion, has the privilege of you personally instructing him, so his skills must be exceptional! You repeatedly call me a good-for-nothing, but if I were to defeat him, would that mean that you and your son are good-for-nothing?”
- “What? You, defeat me?” Sion glared at Francis, then burst into laughter in great amusement. He turned those around them and exclaimed, “Did I hear that right? This good-for-nothing says he's going to defeat me, someone who's at Sky Gate Realm Level Three!”
- The outer disciples watching the show all burst out in derisive laughter and scornful mockery.
- “Francis truly doesn't know his place. He's a good-for-nothing who can't even break through Sky Gate Realm Level One, yet he dares to challenge Sion?”
- “Indeed. Not only has Sion attained Sky Gate Realm Level Three, making him a mid-level expert among the outer disciples, but he also has Mr. Sutton's meticulous guidance. Rumor has it that he has mastered many advanced martial skills!”
- “Francis is just courting death!”
- Similar sentiments rang out, one after another.
- Nonetheless, Francis acted as if he hadn't heard a word of it all. He simply smiled and tore a piece of cloth from his shirt before tossing it to Sion. That was a symbolic gesture of issuing a challenge.
- “Sion, dare you face me in a duel?”
- “What a reckless good-for-nothing,” Kain sneered.
- He looked at Sion. “Take him up on it, Sion.”
- Sion nodded and declared loudly, “I accept your challenge.”
- Looking at Francis, he added with a smile twisted with malice, “You're merely a silver-tongued good-for-nothing. Once you're in hell, be sure to send my regards to your worthless master!”
- As he spoke, he clenched his fist. His aura burst forth strongly, and the power of Sky Gate Realm Level Three filled him, eliciting gasps of surprise from those around him.
- Connor exclaimed in shock, “Have you lost your mind, Francis? Your capabilities—”
- “Don't worry, Mr. Highmanes.” Francis gave a slight smile, murmuring, “I've got this.”
- Connor nodded somewhat uncertainly but made up his mind that if anything went awry later, he would rescue Francis and take him away.
- A crowd had formed a circle. In it, Francis and Sion stood facing each other with two feet between them.
- Sion extended a finger, a malicious grin on his face as he boasted, “Francis, I'm going to use one punch to send you off to meet your good-for-nothing master! That's all it'll take!”
- He was a Sky Gate Realm Level Three martial artist and had a strength of five hundred kilograms, so a single punch was enough to kill Francis. Of course, that only applied to the Francis of the past.
- They were all unaware that Francis was a completely different person then.
- “What's with all the chatter? All you do is ramble!” Francis barked impatiently. He took a step forward and shot his hand out forcefully.
- A punch cut through the air, making the space vibrate even as tremendous power burst forth. Across from him, Sion's expression changed drastically, for he could sense the immense strength the fist carried. A sense of inexplicable terror filled him. Why has this good-for-nothing become so formidable? However, he had no time to dwell upon that. With a roar, his vital energy surged, and his palm turned green. The two forces collided.
- It was a first-tier Yellow Grade martial skill, Greenwood Hand.
- After cultivating Greenwood Hand, one could transform one's palms into woody quality, making them significantly tougher and greatly resistant to pain. For novice martial artists, the hardening of limbs and dulling of pain were invaluable capabilities. To outer disciples, it was a powerful martial skill. Without a father who served as an elder, Sion would never have had access to that martial skill.
- “Although I'm not sure why this good-for-nothing has improved greatly in his capabilities and become a Sky Gate Realm Level Three martial artist, there's no way he could be Mr. Sion's match!”
- “Exactly! By the looks of it, he hasn't cultivated any martial skills!”
- That was an exchange by some people nearby.
- With a resounding bang, the two men's fists collided. Sion was horrified, sensing an overwhelming surge of energy rushing into his body, making his blood roil tumultuously.
- At that very moment, Francis roared, the immense vital energy in his entire body bursting forth. Sion let out an agonized scream as he was sent flying. While mid-flight, his face flushed bright red, and he spurted a mouthful of blood.
- Then, he fell heavily to the ground. “Sion!” Kain cried out in disbelief.
