Chapter 16 Wind Wolf

  • Francis opened his eyes, revealing a hint of joy in his gaze. The injuries within my body have already healed. Even some internal injuries have been cured. The effects of the white water lily are truly miraculous! The power within this white water lily is astonishingly potent. It took less than one-tenth of its capacity to heal the injuries!
  • At that moment, the vital energy inside him surged uncontrollably, showing no signs of stopping, continuing to flow out from his elixir field as if it were limitless. Francis carefully guided this vital energy, following the circulation method of Bedoro Leaf Scripture, and his inner strength was climbing steadily.
  • His strength rose from two thousand pounds to three thousand pounds rather rapidly.
  • At three thousand pounds, Francis' strength was equivalent to the power of six tigers combined. That was comparable to the strength of a mid-stage Sky Gate Realm Level Five expert.
  • Francis' cultivation level had already reached the peak-stage of Level Four, and even then, the vital energy within his elixir field remained incredibly robust.
  • He gritted his teeth, starting to channel all his vital energy. It surged from his elixir field and pulsed through his meridians.
  • The meridians that were originally repaired and stabilized were once again impacted, starting to fracture inch by inch. The rupture of these meridians inflicted immense pain on Francis, but he gritted his teeth and persevered. He continued to manipulate his vital energy, circulating it relentlessly within his body. Blood traces had already emerged on his skin's surface, yet he seemed oblivious to it.
  • The immense pain had almost numbed him completely.
  • After an indeterminate amount of time, his entire body jolted violently. A loud bang echoed in his mind. All his meridians shattered and then reformed.
  • The newly formed meridians were even more expansive and sturdy, capable of accommodating a greater surge of vital energy.
  • With a resounding roar, Francis abruptly stood up, executing Palm of Light. A massive golden palm imprint, as large as a carriage wheel and two feet in diameter, materialized and slammed forcefully into the large rock blocking the cave entrance. The stone, as tall as a man, was blasted into bits. Francis burst into hearty laughter as he darted out of the cave.
  • He successfully broke through, advancing to Sky Gate Realm Level Five. His power also soared to an impressive three thousand and three hundred pounds.
  • Besides, his Palm of Light had even reached Level Two.
  • At that moment, even a peak-stage Sky Gate Realm Level Six martial artist might not necessarily be a match for him.
  • Francis felt an immense sense of satisfaction.
  • In the following days, Francis honed his skills in Evergreen Mountain Range.
  • Drinking from the mountain spring and feasting on the meat of demonic beasts filled with spiritual energy, Francis continuously battled these demonic beasts to improve his cultivation level. Clad in a simple green robe, he faced the wilderness with a defiant laugh.
  • He had also managed to collect some crystal cores from demonic beasts, but they were of low levels. The highest level was only at Sky Gate Realm Level Four. It had come from a venomous snake of a dull yellow hue. Despite its lethal poison, its defense was terribly weak. Francis had easily obliterated it with a strike from his Level Two Palm of Light.
  • Within a valley, a storm was raging, punctuated by flashes of golden light.
  • Francis was engaged in a fierce battle with a demon wolf.
  • The Wind Wolf, a Sky Gate Realm Level Five demonic beast, moved as swiftly as the wind, exhibiting extraordinary speed. Its teeth were incredibly sharp, capable of even piercing through iron. Moreover, this demon wolf had the ability to spew wind blades from its mouth, enabling it to launch long-range attacks. This demon wolf was known to flee at the sight of a superior opponent, making it a particularly troublesome adversary.
  • A monstrous demon wolf, the size of a young calf, was sprinting at an incredible speed. It opened its mouth, and a half-moon-shaped wind blade, as large as a wheel, was spat out, tracing an arc toward Francis. With a single swipe of Palm of Light, Francis shattered the wind blade. A glint of sly cunning flashed in the demon wolf's eyes. It turned out that after the first wind blade was released, it was immediately followed by another. The first was merely a feint. By the time Francis noticed the second wind blade, it was already in front of him.
  • Luckily, his reflexes were incredibly quick. With a swift contortion of his body, he narrowly avoided the wind blade that whizzed past his waist. The wind blade struck a massive boulder, sparks flying everywhere, leaving behind a fissure that was a foot deep. Francis looked on, his heart pounding in fear. If he hadn't dodged in time, he would have been sliced at the waist.
  • He watched the Wind Wolf wandering in the distance, which inevitably gave him a headache.
  • That wasn't the most powerful demonic beast he'd encountered since entering Evergreen Mountain Range, but it certainly was the craftiest. The demon wolf didn't engage him in close combat. Instead, it kept its distance, launching wind blades and constantly moving around, preventing him from fully utilizing his strength.
  • After the struggle, Francis realized his own shortcomings. He was slow, his attack strategies were too simplistic, and he lacked any long-range attack capabilities.
  • Bedoro Leaf Scripture's characteristics were substantial and unpretentious. Hence, Francis' vital energy was potent, and his meridians were robust and stable, possessing a great force that was deeply rooted. He held an advantage in close combat, but his abilities did not extend to long-range.
  • Francis figured he needed to amplify his tactics against his adversaries. Needless to say, his most pressing concern at the moment was to deal with that Wind Wolf.
  • His thoughts swirled, and he came up with a plan.
  • Francis continued his standoff with the demon wolf, which still intermittently unleashed wind blades yet refrained from close combat. It seemed that Francis had lost his patience due to the provocation. He yelled in anger repeatedly, constantly using Palm of Light to attack the Wind Wolf. However, either his attacks couldn't reach such a distance, or they were deftly evaded by the Wind Wolf.
  • A flicker of mockery flashed through the eyes of the Wind Wolf. This human's reaction was something it had anticipated all along.
