Chapter 37 – Lucas' Pov

• I'm filled with an overwhelming sense of pain and disbelief. The person I once loved, cared for, and dedicated myself to has betrayed me in the most unimaginable way. Our child, our own flesh and blood, was sacrificed for her selfish ambition. How could she do this?
• A wave of disgust washes over me as I realize the extent of her selfishness. Did she think our child would be a burden to her ambitions? Did she consider abortion as an option? My emotions blur my vision as I am consumed by a mix of pain and anger.
• “L-Lucas, please, just give me a chance to explain... Lucas, please? Let's talk about it. We can find a resolution,” she pleads, attempting to approach me.
