• I retreated to my room after helping with the decorations, a sense of nervous excitement bubbling up inside me. The room was now filled with a sea of pink and blue balloons, and I couldn’t shake the thought: please let it be a girl. If it turns out to be a boy, I’ll have to love him eventually, but I was desperately hoping for a sister.
