Chapter 40

• "What the hell were you doing with him?" Hearing Nick's voice, after everything that happened, felt like daggers straight to my chest. The void kept growing, like a black hole taking everything in its path.
• "He and I were just..." I wasn't able to look him in the eyes, I looked at his tight lips and his red cheeks from anger. Why was he angry? He had no right to demand an explanation, and I wasn't going to give him one, even if I wanted to.
• "We went out, what's the problem? You don't have to make a scene about it, and you don't have the right to. You're choking me with your stupid jealousy."
