- The Athlone Croí Na hÉireann Festival begins today and lasts for four days ending with the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday. I expect that we’ll have a busy lunch service as the streets fill up with vendors and musicians lining the banks of the Shannon. Traditional folk songs are being played on every corner as tourists drop coins in the musicians' guitar cases and hats.
