Chapter 22

  • I didn't sleep that night, but struggled with who to contact for information. The Ishimaru had many subcontractors who supplied us with orders, information and weapons. But it had to be someone the Sadako weren't watching. In the end, I decided in favour of Toshinki. The young man from one of the emperor's side lines is travelling as a diplomat for Japan and as far as I know, if the news is correct, he is currently in Poland to mediate in the Ukraine war. I couldn't call him directly, of course, but I was able to send him a numerical code including my telephone number via an old telephone.
  • The code was simple. One part was my verification. The second was to request information.
  • Three days later, I received a call from one of Toshinki's subcontractors. He took the request for information about the Sadakos. Now it was time to wait. Vlad was now living in the castle and each of them was still busy researching and travelling every day. Even if I could help with the Sadakos, it was a human organisation. They didn't have any vampires as members, so they were only hired.
