- I sit in the office, the room thick with the tension I can’t shake. My brother, Dominic, leans against the door frame, arms crossed, his jaw tight. He’s worried. I can see it in his eyes, and it irritates the hell out of me. But I don’t let it show.
- “Listen,” he says, voice low, like he’s trying to soften the blow. “The pack’s uneasy. You know they’re not stupid. Two dead wolves and not a word from anyone? It doesn’t sit right with them. There’s too much silence.”
