• I quickly walk away from Jaxon's office, my heart hammering in my chest. I knew this was going to happen. It always does. Not that I regret it. In fact, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and my body can't seem to get enough of him, but the reminder that someone was dead and the other at the brink of death shook me out of the reverie.
