Chapter 37 The Doctor's Visit 1

• Kitty knuckle before letting it drop. After a moment, the door opened, revealing a man in his late thirties wearing a white shirt and black trousers. He smiled at her and held the door open wide. "Come in."
• Inside, the foyer was spacious and darkly paneled. Kitty followed him down a hallway and through a pair of heavy wooden doors into a parlor. A fire crackled merrily in the fireplace, while several large comfortable-looking chairs lined the walls. There was also a sofa and a couple of end tables. A huge Persian rug covered the floor, and a half dozen lamps provided plenty of light. All in all, it looked like a cozy place to relax.
• "Please make yourself comfortable," he said, gesturing towards the sofa. "I'll be right back."
