Chapter 9 What A Nice Brother You Have

  • Bang!
  • The excavator's windshield shattered in an instant.
  • The operator, in a state of shock, frantically checked his body, only to find that he was surprisingly unharmed. He couldn't help but exhale a long breath. “Whew! That scared me half to death!”
  • Little did he know that Finneas' stone had shattered his aorta, and death was merely a matter of time.
  • Moreover, the shattering of his aorta would lead to a disruption in the flow of his vital energy, resulting in an excruciatingly painful death.
  • Naturally, Finneas did this because he didn't want to kill someone in front of his sister at the moment.
  • Bang!
  • Finneas sent Grover flying four or five meters away with another kick. “Take your men and leave immediately!” he ordered icily.
  • “Yes, right away!”
  • Grover hadn't expected Finneas to let him go just like that. Overwhelmed with surprise and joy, he hastily struggled to his feet, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth.
  • The men crammed onto two excavators and took off like a shot.
  • Finneas coldly observed the scene.
  • These people's aorta have been severed. They will all die soon! Aside from that, I've also left a mark on Grover. No matter where he goes, I can find him! A family should always stick together! Not only do I want the lives of Grover and his gang, but also those pulling the strings behind the scenes. Even that so-called 'Trident Gang' must be wiped out!
  • With that in mind, Finneas let out a heavy sigh, shifting his gaze toward his sister. He squeezed out a small smile and asked, “Lyssie, are you all right?”
  • Alyssa looked at her brother, her expression complex. For a moment, she didn't respond.
  • Surprisingly, Kelly stepped forward from beside her, her face full of admiration as she looked at Finneas.
  • “Mister, I never expected you to be so incredible. One truly can't judge a book by its cover!”
  • After saying that, she couldn't help but give Finneas' arm a gentle squeeze.
  • Her eyes lit up immediately after. Turning around, she exclaimed in surprise, “Lyssie, it's so firm! Such firmness! How impressive! Truly, it's beyond impressive!”
  • Finneas looked at Kelly, a slight twitch playing at the corners of his mouth.
  • Had anyone else dared to squeeze his arm like this, he would have slapped them long ago.
  • “You're not truly Lyssie's brother, are you?” Kelly asked curiously again.
  • “It's true. I'm Lyssie's biological brother!”
  • As Finneas spoke, he deliberately glanced at Alyssa. To his surprise, she didn't deny anything, which filled his heart with joy.
  • For the first time in a decade, he felt happy.
  • “Hmph! I knew it! If you weren't Lyssie's brother, how could you possibly risk your life against this gang of riffraffs? I can't believe Lyssie lied to me, claiming you came here to relieve yourself! Honestly...” Kelly muttered in dissatisfaction.
  • “Kelly, don't spout nonsense!” Alyssa hurriedly said.
  • Upon hearing that, Kelly cheekily stuck out her tongue, choosing not to respond. However, her sparkling eyes never ceased to drift over Finneas and Alyssa, leaving one wondering what thoughts were running through her mind.
  • Taking advantage of the pause in their conversation, Finneas picked up the items he had purchased in the afternoon, saying, “Lyssie, I spent the afternoon buying a bunch of things for you. Take a look and see if you like them.”
  • After a moment of hesitation, Alyssa still reached out and accepted them.
  • “Let me see what did you buy!” Kelly hastily opened the bag, fervently flipping through its contents.
  • “Wow! So many pieces of lingerie! They're all from Victoria's Secret, a luxury brand! I bet all these must have cost a fortune, right? What a nice brother you have, Lyssie! There are also so many snacks... pickles, potato chips, tortilla chips, almonds, beef jerky, crackers, cream puffs... Oh my, they're all my favorites! No, Lyssie. You must share some with me! You know I can't resist good food at all!” Kelly exclaimed with excitement as she went through the items.
  • For some reason, Alyssa felt a rush of pride as she witnessed the scene.
  • Previously, she had always envied Kelly for having an endless supply of snacks and a wardrobe full of beautiful clothes. But now, it was finally Kelly's turn to envy her.
  • “Kelly, if you like it, feel free to eat as much as you want.” A rare smile graced Alyssa's delicate features, revealing her small canine teeth.
  • Seeing his sister laugh, Finneas also found himself grinning goofily at the side.
  • “Lyssie, your brother is so nice to you! I'm so envious. I wish I had an older brother, too,” Kelly said admiringly.
  • Alyssa glanced at Finneas but remained silent.
  • As the saying went, everyone had a soft spot.
  • She realized her brother seemed just as she remembered him to be, treating her incredibly well, and not as bad as she had imagined.
  • Perhaps there had been an unexpected incident back then.
  • Hence, she decided to have a serious talk with Finneas later.
  • “By the way... Lyssie, I also bought you a phone.” As Finneas spoke, he quickly pulled the phone from his pocket and handed it to Alyssa.
  • “Wow! It's an iPhone. This is the latest model! It costs almost ten thousand! I never thought your brother would turn out to be a secretly wealthy man!” Kelly gasped in astonishment yet again, so filled with envy that she was at a loss for words.
  • The phone I'm using barely cost three thousand. This phone is worth three of mine!
  • “Where did you get all this money from?” Alyssa glanced at the phone, her brow furrowing as she asked.
  • After all, Finneas' attire didn't exactly scream wealth. So, where did he suddenly get all this money to buy these things? If it was stolen or robbed, I'll never accept it.
  • After some thought, Finneas said, “This afternoon, I went into the city and met a kind soul. Seeing my plight, he gave me a hundred thousand.”
  • As soon as his words fell, Kelly and Alyssa were momentarily taken aback.
  • Someone kind-hearted gave a hundred thousand? Could there be such a stroke of luck in this world?
  • However, upon seeing the earnest expression on Finneas' face, the two girls surprisingly believed him.
  • “Where's this kind soul? Let me have that chance encounter, too,” Kelly excitedly exclaimed.
  • “Forget it! Even if you go, they won't give it to you,” Finneas said.
  • “Why so? Is it because I seem like a privileged, wealthy beauty who doesn't need money?” she asked.
  • He replied, “No... It's because you can't scribble.”
  • “Huh?”
  • With Kelly's lively character around, the atmosphere at the scene instantly became harmonious.
  • It was especially so for Finneas and Alyssa. Their relationship had noticeably mellowed after what had just happened.
  • Even though Alyssa still hadn't openly acknowledged him as her brother, Finneas believed that day wouldn't be too far off.
  • At that moment, Finneas seemed to have sensed something as he turned his gaze eastward. A hint of hidden murderous intent flashed across his deep-set eyes.
  • “Mister, what's wrong?” Kelly noticed something was off and asked curiously.
  • “It's nothing. I just remembered I have some stuff to take care of! You guys start dinner without me. I'll be back shortly. Let's have a good catch-up tonight,” Finneas replied with a smile.
  • “You should come back early. You probably aren't aware of my culinary skills, I cook very fast,” Kelly said with a hint of playful arrogance.
  • Alyssa remained silent, but her expressive eyes were intently fixed on Finneas, clearly hoping for his early return.
  • Finneas flashed a slight smile. “Don't worry. I'll be back in no more than half an hour.”
  • Watching Alyssa and Kelly enter the house, the smile on his face gradually froze, as if it only bloomed when he saw his sister.
  • “Has the fish taken the bait?” With that, Finneas found a secluded corner and shot into the sky, swiftly heading eastward.
