Chapter 5 Biased
- "Mom, I don't want to marry him!" Because Shirley was so terrified, the muscles in her legs began to tremble.
- She ducked quickly behind Valerie and hid her trembling face behind her.
- Jemima, who had just a moment ago been in the center of the storm, pulled a chair to the side and sat down in it with a casual air.
- She maintained her composure as she poured herself a cup of tea and watched the event unfold. Her stunning eyes lost some of their luster.
- She couldn't help but ponder what her life might have been like in the event that she hadn't found someone to marry her that very day.
- "Shirley, can you please come here?" Mister Penty got to his feet and made an attempt to grab Shirley.
- When he stood up, his belly jiggled like a boar that weighed five hundred kilograms.
- Shirley let out a terrified scream. Almost instantly, Valerie put herself in the middle of the two of them.
- " Mister Penty! Shirley was an obvious choice for Old Mister Sterling, who had already made his decision. Tomorrow, she will have a date with Mister Sterling, and it will be a blind date! You are aware of the Sterlings' formidable strength. We would never have the nerve to defy them!"
- Even though Valerie's voice might come across as mild and submissive, every word that she said was menacing.
- The family known as the Sterling ruled Daeho City and was considered to be the most powerful of the city's Four Great Families.
- Cole Sterling held the title of Prince of Daeho City during his time there. It would have been enough for him to stomp his feet for the entire city of Daeho to crumble at his feet!
- "Hmph! Therefore, the reason you look down on me is because you have negotiated special treatment with the Sterlings."
- In point of fact, Mister Penty ceased what he was doing and harrumphed angrily.
- "No, no, no. That's not what I mean!" Valerie
- immediately elaborated on in a flattering manner.
- "Valerie. If you dare to deceive me, I will never put my money into you! The jury is still out on this one!" Valerie's comments were disregarded by Mister Penty. After uttering an obscenity, he exited the Forrester Mansion.
- Both of the family Forrester's members engaged in intricate plotting and schemeing, but it was all for naught in the end. It ended up being a waste of time and effort in the end.
- Jemima was able to take everything in. She yawned and stood up in a disinterested manner after getting up. She was about to make her way to the upper floor.
- "Jemima Forrester ! Put an end to that, you little piece of trash!"
- Jemima's eyes were drawn involuntarily to the direction Valerie was coming from, then she saw her wearing a gloomy expression.
- She gripped her hand tenaciously and raised it. It was only a matter of seconds before she was going to get smacked across the face.
- Slap!
- "Ah!" A pitiful wailing could be heard just as a sharp slap was delivered!
- However, Jemima was not the one who was hurt in this incident. Jemima's level of awareness significantly increased after she gave up looking for her biological father. When she turned around, she immediately retreated one step after making the turn.
- Valerie smacked her with all of her strength, which caused her to spin around when she realized that he had missed Jemima.
- Shirley, who had just rushed over to them and pretended to be a nice person, took the full force of her opponent's slap.
- Instantaneously, a distinct handprint consisting of all five fingers was left on Shirley's face! It was so excruciating for her that she sputtered.
- Karma can be a real pain in the rear, as the old proverb goes.
- "Shirley !"
- "Mom!"
- Valerie's anxiety caused her to rush over to her and give her a hug.
- Also experiencing fear was Shirley. Almost immediately, she moved closer to her.
- Jemima stood by herself off to the side, observing the tender scene of the two people sharing their home. She ought to have realized her error a long time ago.
- Her mother had been killed in an accident involving a plane when she was 10 years old.
- Both Jemima and her father were abandoned, but Jemima never for a moment considered the possibility that she had already been completely dispossessed at that very moment.
- They did not have to wait very long for Valerie and Shirley to enter their lives after the accident. They claimed that they were distant Forrester relatives and that they had come to assist her father in taking care of her.
- On the other hand, the year that she turned 18, Francis made a shocking announcement that he had married Valerie and that Shirley was now his biological daughter. He compelled Jemima to refer to Valerie as her mother, and he forced Shirley to be Jemima's sister.
- At that point, she ought to have been able to see things clearly already!
- "What a sweet and wonderful family!" When Jemima laughed sarcastically at Valerie, she provoked her anger almost immediately.
- She screamed at her, "Get out of here right now!"
- "Leave?" Jemima displayed a chilly expression by raising her eyebrows and crossing her arms over her chest.
- She regarded them in a composed manner.
- "My mother bequeathed me this house. It is in my name, after all. Those individuals who are currently residing here illegally ought to vacate the premises immediately!
- When Valerie and Shirley heard what Jemima had to say, their normally relaxed faces became rigid for no apparent reason. They all harbored the dark desire to dismember her!
- Valerie was never willing to acknowledge the fact that she was the mistress because she considered it to be a scandal.
- "Why are you acting toward us in this manner, Jem?
- I'm your sister!" Shirley cried her eyes out and made a point of doing it in front of Jemima while she was doing it. She did this while sobbing angrily.
- "My mother never brought into this world a conniving, pretentious b*tch like you!" Jemima remarked as she gave an eye-rolling gesture.
- "Jemima ! I can't believe you would say something like that! Take a good look at yourself! Look at you! Imagine how your mother would react if she could see you like that after she's passed away." Valerie defended Shirley. Even Jemima's mother, Ruby Golden, who had passed away, was mentioned by her.
- When Jemima heard what she had to say, she made a face of intense concentration.
- "You certainly are a talker! I'm older than your daughter, but not by much. Is this the way in which you show your allegiance to my mother?"
- "Enough! Shut up!" When Valerie let out a rage-filled yell, she was immediately overcome with embarrassment.
- Shirley showed that she was acting the part of a kind and submissive daughter by patting her mother on the back.
- "Stop it already, Jem. Do you intend to take the life of your father? What do you think will happen in the event that dad finds out about this?"
- Shirley's anger was through the roof. She was aware that Jemima had always kept quiet to try to win her father's approval, so she purposefully used Francis as a tool to bring Jemima under control.
- In Francis's presence, Jemima would behave in a submissive and obedient manner at all times. This psychological tactic was utilized by Valerie in order to maintain control over Jemima. However, Valerie made a mistake in her calculations this time.
- "Kill him?" Jemima's eyebrows were raised in surprise. Her tone was clearly mocking, and she did not try to hide it. "Some people believe that evil will always exist. Although I'm younger than him, I'm not strong enough to kill him. It is certain that he will pass away before me!"
- Following the plane crash, Francis had transformed into a different individual. He never smiled or showed any sign of concern toward her, and he never showed any interest in what she had to say.
