• The police arrived shortly after, and without a word, I was taken to the station. I was questioned, but I didn’t provide the answers they sought. For one, I didn’t know the exact location of the mansion, and even if I did, I couldn’t bring myself to tell them.
• I would be sending innocent men to their deaths. No doubt Vincent wouldn’t hesitate to kill innocent people to save himself. That’s why involving the police or government in mafia affairs was always a bad idea; it inevitably turned violent.
