• I leaned back in my chair, rubbing my temples as I tried to understand everything. The report claimed my father had died of heart failure, likely brought on by the stress of the earthquake. But how did that explain the bruises on his wrists and ankles? The unexplained substance in his bloodstream? The timeline that didn't quite add up?
