Chapter 23
- Masonr's POV
- The moon hung high in the sky, casting a silver glow over the forest. I stared out from the balcony of my room, the cool night air doing little to calm the storm brewing inside me. The news had hit like a freight train, unexpected and utterly disorienting. Aurora—my mate, the one I had thought dead—was alive. But she wasn't coming back. She had found refuge in another pack.
- My heart clenched at the thought of her being out there, somewhere beyond my reach. I had tried to convince myself that I had done the right thing by choosing Margot. She was the one I had committed to, the one I had vowed to be with. But every time I closed my eyes, I saw Aurora's face—those haunted blue eyes that had looked so lost and betrayed.
