Chapter 10 He Is a Good Person
- Casper stood by and watched as his eyes squinted in his habitual manner, his thoughts unknown to anyone.
- The fever-reducing medicine quickly took effect, and Rhea wiped away the sweat as she started to recover from her fever.
- In her drowsy state, she saw her neighbor turning into Casper.
- When Rhea finally woke up, it was already one o'clock in the afternoon the next day.
- Having not slept all night, she had slept through the morning after her fever subsided, only to be awakened by hunger in the afternoon.
- Rhea indeed had a strong constitution. Even after experiencing a high fever and fainting, she seemed completely fine after taking some fever-reducing medicine and waking up.
- She got out of bed and quickly went to check on the orchids in the yard. After seeing that they were all well taken care of, she hurried back.
- Her stomach was growling with hunger. The three dishes and one soup from yesterday had been eaten by someone, leaving Rhea feeling a bit regretful.
- She had planned to cook some noodles for herself but couldn't bring herself to add an egg.
- Now that she had to take care of Casper and make up for the orchids, she didn't dare to spend money recklessly.
- While Rhea was cooking the noodles, Roger called and asked with concern, "Hey, Rhea. How have these past two days been? Did that kid bully you? If there's anything making you unhappy, you must tell me."
- Rhea was stunned. As an orphan, she was rarely cared for like this, and she was taken aback for a moment.
- Thinking of the scene she saw in a daze last night, where Casper took care of her when she was sick, she appreciated it tenfold when someone treated her well.
- So, she earnestly replied, "I'm doing well. Casper didn't bully me. He is a good person."
- Upon hearing Rhea's words, Roger laughed heartily and said, "Good child. Thank you for taking care of that kid."
- He was genuinely happy since he had never heard anyone say that his grandson was a good person.
- Roger became even more determined to keep the news of his grandson's marriage a secret, not allowing anyone in the family to disturb the young couple.
- After chatting with Roger for a few more moments, Rhea hung up the phone and saw Casper standing at the staircase, looking at her.
- She was startled, and her phone almost fell into the bowl of noodles. "Casper, you... you didn't go to work?"
- Casper still had bruises on the corners of his mouth, and Rhea felt a bit guilty when she saw them.
- She had only been in Mirage for two days. On the first day, she had a fight with Casper, and on the second day, she destroyed his yard. Despite his bad attitude, Casper still took care of her when she was sick.
- In Rhea's opinion, it was only fair for her to compensate for the things she had destroyed.
- So, even though Casper had a terrible attitude, she didn't think he was at fault.
- Her biggest dissatisfaction with Casper was probably his being wasteful with food.
- At this moment, Casper remained silent.
- Rhea glanced at her noodles and thought about the time, then spoke again. "Um, Casper, I cooked noodles. Do you want to eat?"
- She thought Casper wouldn't eat, especially since he didn't touch the three dishes and soup from yesterday, claiming even a dog wouldn't eat it. However, unexpectedly, he walked straight toward the dining room and sat at the table.
- Rhea was stunned. Did this mean he wanted to eat?
- So, she cooked some extra noodles.
- After thinking for a moment, she fried an egg for Casper.
- The white noodles were accompanied by some green vegetables and a fried egg sprinkled with a few green onions.
- It was so simple, unlike the noodles Casper usually ate, which were served with luxurious seafood broth.
- Casper took a bite, paused, and surprisingly found it delicious.
- Rhea stared at Casper and only relaxed when she saw him picking up his utensils to eat.
- She started eating as well, her bowl only containing vegetables without an egg.
- He noticed but didn't think much of it, assuming that she didn't like eggs because, in his eyes, he would never have imagined that someone would save an egg to save money.
