Chapter 65

• The days that followed were utterly boring. Emma did everything to annoy me, and I did everything to stay away from her. I even slept in the office one night.
• I spent a pleasant afternoon with the woman I love. It was wonderful to see her smile, hear her funny laugh when a local spoke to her. I was building my future with her, and it was beautiful.
• "Shall we go on the Ferris wheel?" she asks, intertwining our fingers. "And let's pray that it stops at the top. I want to see a glimpse of the city."
