Chapter 29
- Suddenly, I stop and observe the surroundings. The kitchen from my old house, before all the shit happened, appears before me. Dad is sitting at one end of our small table with four chairs. My twin sister is sitting on one side, and Mom is in front of the stove, making her delicious pancakes. We were the untouchable kind of family. Nothing seemed to shake us. Until my father started getting addicted to gambling and offering my body as a prize.
- I shake my head abruptly, pushing those images out of my mind. After taking a deep breath, I pick up the small bowl of cereal and milk and make my way to the living room.
- I sit on the couch with my legs crossed and turn on the TV. There's a children's cartoon playing.
