Chapter 35
- Jack pov
- The doctor led me down the hallway, my footsteps echoing louder than I intended. The reality of the situation was still sinking in—Samantha was pregnant. My thoughts spiraled in a thousand different directions. I had no idea what to expect when I got to the hospital, but this? A baby? It was like life had thrown me a curveball, and I wasn't sure how to catch it. I didn't even know how she was going to take the news. Hell, I wasn't sure how I felt about it. But one thing was clear as day—Samantha and that baby now came first, above everything.

The love of my life, lying on that hospital bed, her face pale but peaceful, her breathing soft and steady. My heart clenched. I hadn't realized how terrified I'd been until I saw her awake. The relief was overwhelming, and before I could think, I was at her side, pulling her into my arms. She felt fragile, like she might slip away if I didn't hold on tight enough.
