Chapter 13 Unconventional
- The bodyguards immediately froze in place, all eyes turning toward the entrance.
- Everyone else followed suit.
- Her face was strikingly beautiful, with a touch of paleness, framed by long hair almost brushing against the floor. Her ethereal aura and innocent demeanor instantly overshadowed everyone in the room.
- It was Tyra.
- Without a doubt, Tyra was the undisputed beauty of River City.
- Even Petra was pale in comparison.
- Crystal, the stunning woman with an explosive hourglass figure, stood next to Tyra.
- She wore a brown evening gown, highlighting her chest even more.
- Yet, for once, nobody was paying attention to Crystal's usual magnetism.
- Everyone's eyes were fixed on Tyra, unable to blink.
- Liam was staring at Tyra, too.
- Her familiar face, figure, and especially the outfit she wore, all confirmed his hopes.
- Tyra was wearing a long, dark gray robe, embroidered with shimmering patterns that resembled bursts of lightning.
- This was Electra's signature attire.
- "What's going on here?"
- Tyra's voice was cold, captivating, with a hint of displeasure.
- No one dared to answer. Instinctively, they all looked at Philip.
- "Tyra, someone's causing trouble and trying to ruin your party. I was just about to throw him out!"
- Philip quickly responded, pointing at Liam.
- "That guy over there, he's not in his right mind. Don't worry, I'll take care of it!"
- Tyra's gaze shifted to Liam.
- He was still staring at her, their eyes locking across the room.
- In that moment, it felt as though the world had disappeared, leaving only the two of them.
- In their eyes, there was no one else.
- Images from countless dreams flickered through their minds, flashing in rapid succession.
- Just one glance felt like an eternity.
- Almost unconsciously, Liam and Tyra both took a step toward each other.
- But before they could close the distance, Petra's anxious voice cut through the air, "Ms. Mallin, that's not what happened."
- Petra tried to explain, "Liam's been in a coma for three years. Liam only woke up yesterday, and he has been acting impulsively. But we didn't mean to cause trouble. They were the ones who provoked us first!"
- Liam and Tyra snapped back to reality, withdrawing their steps.
- Lizzie let out a cold laugh and mocked, "Petra, you and Liam deliberately ruined Ms. Mallin's party. Everyone here can testify to that, and now you're trying to deny it?"
- "That's right, exactly!"
- "Ms. Mallin, it's just as she said."
- "We can all vouch for it. Liam and Petra caused all the trouble on purpose!"
- The crowd chimed in. Once again, the room was filled with noisy accusations.
- "Enough. Be quiet!"
- Tyra shot Liam a deep look before turning away.
- Her voice was calm but commanding, "I'm here to choose a partner for Electra Group.
- "If anyone speaks out again, they can leave."
- The banquet hall fell into immediate silence.
- "Let's begin," Tyra instructed coolly.
- Her team, a group of young women dressed in sharp, tailored suits, sprang into action.
- These women had been Tyra's personal assistants for years. They had stayed by her side even during her time in a coma.
- They quickly handed out papers and pens to everyone in the hall.
- On each sheet, there were three questions.
- "You have three minutes to answer these questions. Anyone who gets all three right will become my business partner," Tyra said, sweeping her gaze over the crowd. "Once you've finished, don't forget to write your name.
- "Now, start the clock!"
- Everyone stared at the questions, utterly baffled.
- "What's Tyra's favorite flower?"
- "What's Tyra's favorite place?"
- "How do you craft the Thunderheart Pill?"
- The first two questions seemed straightforward enough, but the last one—what in the world is that?
- What is a Thunderheart Pill?
- Petra was equally dumbfounded.
- Tyra was certainly someone extraordinary.
- "How are we supposed to answer this?" Petra whispered anxiously to Liam, "I have no idea!"
- She was in a panic, knowing this was her only chance and she couldn't afford to make a mistake.
- Liam leaned close to her ear, whispering something.
- Petra frowned in doubt and asked, "Are you sure?"
- "If you try to answer on your own, you'll get it wrong. Trust me, this is your best shot."
- Liam knew well that this was Tyra's test for him.
- His wife had always been cautious in her ways.
- After a moment of hesitation, Petra wrote down the answers as Liam had suggested.
- She had no other choice but to trust him.
- Three minutes passed quickly.
- "Time's up! Collect the papers!"
- At Tyra's command, her team swiftly gathered the answer sheets.
- "Liam, you trash! You did live up to your name. You didn't even answer any questions!"
- Alex couldn't help but mock him. He'd been watching Liam closely the whole time.
- And indeed, Liam had left his paper blank.
- "Idiot!" Liam responded calmly.
- "You worthless fool, just wait! The results will be out soon, and no one can save you!" Alex fumed.
- Liam ignored him, his attention back on Tyra. In his mind, he thought, My wife is so beautiful!
- "Now, I'll announce the results," Tyra's enchanting voice echoed once again.
- The banquet hall was eerily silent. Almost everyone was holding their breath.
- "There's only one person who answered all three questions correctly," she said, her voice filling the room.
- "And that person is ... Petra Snowden!"
