Chapter 16 Time for Payback
- "Liam, d-don't do anything rash ... "
- Osbert was visibly panicking and asked, "T-this is Ms. Mallin's party. She won't let you have your way here!"
- As Osbert spoke, he took a few steps back. His fear grew as Liam continued to approach. "Grandpa, save me!" He cried out in panic.
- No one doubted for a second that Liam would break Osbert's legs. After all, he had the nerve to castrate Philip, so what was Osbert to him?
- "Ms. Mallin, Liam is behaving recklessly at your estate. Are you really not going to stop him?" Eric asked, looking toward Tyra.
- He wasn't the only one confused. Everyone wondered the same. Even if Tyra and Philip weren't on favorable terms, tonight was still her party. Why was she letting Liam act so wildly?
- "Did any of you bother asking my opinion when you started spreading lies?" Tyra's face twisted into a mocking smile. "Of course, this is the Mallins' estate, and it's my event. I'll take care of things."
- She then turned to the poised beauty beside her and instructed, "Crystal, call your hospital. Tell them to send more ambulances."
- Her voice then dropped coldly as she scanned the room. "Since you've all accidentally fallen and gotten yourselves injured here at my place, I'll take care of your medical bills!"
- Accidentally fall?
- Everyone was stunned.
- Tyra wasn't just ignoring the situation; she was outright protecting Liam.
- She was basically saying that no matter how these people got hurt, it was just an accident. Liam had nothing to do with it.
- Even Crystal, who was in the middle of making her call, glanced at Liam, feeling that something was off.
- Petra, on the other hand, was almost certain of it. Could Liam have a special connection with Tyra?
- "Old fool, stop whining like a child," Liam said impatiently. "It's time for you to honor your bet. From now on, your family company will be under Petra's control!"
- "You just want our money, don't you?" Eric's anger flared. "Fine, just let Osbert go, and I'll hand over the management of the Snowdens to Petra from now on."
- "Shut your mouth," Liam interrupted, turning toward Petra. "Darling, did you bring the contract I asked you to prepare?"
- "Y-yes, I did." Petra was stunned a little.
- She quickly walked over to Liam and pulled a document from her bag, handing it to him.
- Liam took the contract and, without even looking at it, handed it over to Eric. "Sign this, old fool."
- "Transfer of Snowden Group shares?" Eric's eyes blazed with fury at the sight. "Y-you expect me to transfer all the shares to Petra?
- "Liam, your greed knows no bounds. Aren't you afraid of biting off more than you can chew?"
- "Old fool, a bet's a bet. You're old and losing your edge. The only reason you've held power at the Snowdens for so long is because you control the money. Hand over the shares—that's the only way to give up real control. Don't give me that empty nonsense."
- "Petra, is this what you want?" Eric was furious. "Are you really trying to steal the Snowden family's fortune right out in the open?"
- "Grandpa, this was your bet with us. As Snowdens leader, you should keep your word."
- Petra took a deep breath. She needed the company to take control of her own life.
- Otherwise, she'd eventually be forced into a marriage she didn't want.
- "Old Mr. Snowden, Ms. Snowden is now my partner. Are you implying that she's not qualified to run the Snowdens?" Tyra's calm voice rang out.
- Eric's expression changed.
- He looked at Tyra, then back at Petra. His expression grew even more pale as the realization sank in.
- "Fine. I'll sign."
- Eric seemed to age ten years in an instant.
- His hand trembled as he signed his name, as though the act itself drained all his strength.
- "Petra, I've given you what you wanted. Now, please, have Liam spare your brother."
- Snap! Snap!
- The sickening sound of bones breaking echoed through the hall.
- Osbert's agonized screams immediately followed. "Arghh!"
- Osbert crumpled to the ground, writhing in pain.
- "Y-you!" Eric stared at Liam in disbelief, rage filling his eyes. "Liam, you're nothing but a monster!" He gasped, clutching his chest before collapsing to the floor in agony.
- "He passed out from anger, not my fault."
- Liam, wearing an expression of innocence, casually tossed the signed agreement to Petra. "Honey, keep that safe—it's worth a lot of money."
- He then turned to Alex, flashing a brighter smile. "Now, old classmate, it's time for us to settle our score."
- "L-Liam, we can talk this through." Alex was trembling so violently that it felt like his entire body was shaking.
- A second later, with a loud thud, Alex collapsed to the ground. He pleaded, "Liam, we were classmates once. I-I'm begging you, please forgive me. I was wrong. I didn't see the situation clearly before. Please, just spare me!"
- "I knew you'd beg. Too bad you didn't believe me earlier." Liam shook his head. "Alex, I can spare you—but there's one thing I want to know. Three years ago, when I had that car accident, who was the one who pushed me into the road?"
