Chapter 10 Too Cowardice to Bet? Just Leave!
- "Alex, what nonsense are you barking now?" Liam impatiently inquired, "Isn't your face still hurting?"
- "Liam, we've been classmates for years, and you were a coma patient for three years. I actually felt sorry for you!" Alex snapped, visibly furious.
- "But you actually listened to Petra, causing trouble at the party—I have to expose your schemes!
- "Everyone, listen to me!" Alex raised his voice, "I just overheard Liam and Petra plotting to deliberately ruin today's banquet at the entrance. Liam even threatened to slap me twice. Look at my face; the marks are still here!"
- When they saw the obvious red marks on Alex's face, most of the crowd believed him.
- But why would Petra want to ruin the banquet?
- "Petra, are you insane?"
- An upset voice rang out. It was Osbert. He walked over.
- "You and that country bumpkin have already offended the Mallins, and now you wish to bring the entire family down with you?
- "What is it? Can't land a deal with Ms. Mallin, so now you want everyone to crash and burn with you?"
- The crowd was in an uproar upon hearing this.
- Petra had offended the Mallins?
- And she still dared to show up here?
- Liam was surprised. Didn't he break Osbert's leg?
- How was he walking already?
- His legs were fully cured.
- It seemed that someone skilled was in River City after all.
- "Petra, take that worthless brat and leave!"
- Eric stepped forward, his face clouded with anger. "Otherwise, I'll kick you out of the family right now!"
- The crowd began to realize what was happening. The Snowdens were clearly trying to distance themselves from Petra.
- It seemed like Petra had truly offended the Mallins, and it wasn't just about rejecting Philip.
- Alex could barely contain his excitement. If Petra was kicked out of the Snowdens, Liam would go back to being a penniless country bumpkin. And Petra, the beautiful campus belle, might finally be within his reach!
- "Grandpa, we already agreed on this!"
- Petra's stunning face showed clear defiance. "Whatever punishment you want to give me, can't it wait until after the banquet?"
- "Enough! Are you still holding onto the hope that Ms. Mallin will choose to work with you?
- Eric roared in frustration, "Staying here will only make our family lose this opportunity!"
- "Petra, don't forget—your wild man went crazy yesterday and nearly strangled Mr. Philip to death!"
- Osbert sneered. "If you had come alone today, you might've stood a chance.
- "But you brought this useless country bumpkin along with you!
- "If you want to ruin yourself, fine—but don't drag us down with you!"
- The crowd was stunned. Petra's coma-ridden boyfriend had almost killed Philip after waking up.
- No wonder the Snowdens wanted to cut ties with her.
- "Osbert, one more word, and I'll make sure you're a real cripple this time," Liam said coldly.
- If it weren't for his need to meet Tyra, he would have acted already.
- "If the Snowdens want to sever ties with Petra, fine! But when she partners with Tyra later, don't come crawling back!"
- "Hahaha, Liam, have you completely lost it?" Alex sneered. "You pissed off Mr. Philip, and you still think you can get a deal with the Mallins?
- "You should leave now. Once Mr. Philip shows up, you're finished!"
- "Alex, back in university, I never wronged you." Liam's voice was icy as he glared at Alex, "So why have you always been a rabid dog, biting at me? What's your reason?
- "I just remembered—three years ago, when I had my accident, you were standing right behind me, weren't you?"
- Liam didn't know who had pushed him, but now he suspected it was Alex.
- "Liam, we're talking about you disrupting the banquet now; don't bring up old stuff!"
- Alex's eyes flashed with panic. "I'm warning you—slandering Ms. Reid is one thing, but ruining Ms. Mallin's banquet? No one in River City can save you!
- "If you leave now, maybe you'll save your miserable life."
- Liam caught the panic in Alex's eyes. It seemed likely that Alex had been involved in that car accident three years ago.
- "Liam, listen to your classmate. Leave now!" Osbert sneered. "You need to wake up—you're just a poor kid from the countryside. You don't belong in high society with us!
- "Even if you cling to Petra, you'll never be our equal. You'll just drag her down to your filthy level."
- "To me, scum like you and Alex are the real filth," Liam said, his voice cold. "I don't feel like teaching you a lesson before Tyra arrives. However, if you're asking on it, I'm willing to break your leg again."
- "You b*stard!"
- Osbert was angry, but there was also a trace of fear in his eyes.
- "Alright, Liam, you think Ms. Mallin will choose Petra, right? Do you dare make a bet with me?
- "If Petra isn't selected by Ms. Mallin, not only will Petra be kicked out of the Snowdens, but you'll have to break both your legs!
- "Are you up for it? If not, leave now!"
