Chapter 9
- Dade sat beside Cora on the couch. The others were slowly filing in, chatting excitedly. He was looking down at her pushing her hair back from her face. Her color was worrying him. The usual light brown tone was pale and sallow, giving her a frail appearance.
- Steven squatted beside her, reaching over to check her pulse. He smiled at Dade. “She’ll be back to normal in a bit, it took a lot of out her, being close for that long. I’ll get Leena to make some tea.”
- Dade nodded his acknowledgment of the words but continued to look down at her. Brushing a curl off her face he smiled as her eyes finally opened. “Hey, honey, how are you doing?”
