Chapter 972 An Old Friend
- “Run!” Tang Yin quickly came to his senses before grabbing onto Zhuge Pei’s wrist and charging toward the exit. He was certain that George wouldn’t have prepared only one, simple trap if he had known that Tang Yin would visit him. These 500 mutants might just be the first trap; I’m sure there are other things hiding in this basement. Without any hesitation, Zhuge Pei quickly followed behind Tang Yin as they both rushed to the pathway where they had come from just now. However, they realized that a metal door was completely blocking their access to the pathway when they got there. Tang Yin’s face fell as he raised an arm to pound the door.
- Thud! Thud! Thud! Meanwhile, 500 or more mutants were charging toward them greedily. Tang Yin pressed both his hands against the metal door, but he simply couldn’t get it to budge. The door was produced with some sort of special material that made it a lot sturdier than Tang Yin would’ve expected it to be.
- At that very moment, the mutants began to surround Zhuge Pei. She immediately pulled a long sword out before swinging it around to strike her targets from all directions. Three or four of these mutants took a step back as blood began to ooze out of their bodies. However, the mutants didn’t seem to show any response to their newly formed injuries; they were exactly like zombies who kept coming back for a fight. This startled Zhuge Pei as she was already in her transformation stage—her skills were at its peak. Just the force of my sword itself should be enough to kill tons of people, yet I haven’t killed a single one of these mutants. “Die!” Zhuge Pei found herself losing her temper. Getting overwhelmed by a large number of mutants despite being a master at the transformation stage felt like an embarrassment to her, and Zhuge Pei’s face turned red. With a furious slash, she chopped off a mutant’s head.
