Chapter 5 Aq
- Tyrus’s POV.
- “ Tyrus! Thalia has been throwing up since morning. The only thing I saw that she took at midnight was water. I don’t know what happening to her.” Daciana cried out to me in terror, early hours of the morning.
- “What happened? Where is she? What did she…?”, I asked all the questions almost at once. I was confused and angry at the same time. I hurriedly followed Daciana to where Thalia laid. They kept her outside the den so that she would receive the trees fresh air. It was believed to be therapeutic.
- Mia stood there shaking, “I think so much fear has made her feverish. She seems to be going through a lot even in her sleep. She’s always waking up sweating and panting.”
- “Did she say a word to you about it?”, I asked curiously.
- “No, she didn’t.”, Mia replied.
- “Okay. Go back to your den and don’t you worry. I’ll ensure she’s alright.”
- “Alright”, they both responded as they headed back their den and I sat with Thalia who was laying down weak, partly unconscious.
- “Thalia”, I called softly. “What’s wrong?”
- “Tyrus”, she responded calmly as she turned to look at me, as she tried to open her eyes.
- “What happened to you? What did you eat? How do you feel?” I kept asking several questions. She didn’t say a word. My heart skipped as I saw her in that state.
- “She needs to fully revive before she can answer my questions.” I said to myself, as I sat there watching her until noon.
- I knew she’d be able to explain herself when she wakes up, that way, we can know what treatment to give her.
- I kept mopping her body with a wet towel so that she can feel the impact of the cool air and it would hasten her recovery.
- As I looked at her with her eyes shut, she looked innocent like a little mouse and I smirked.
- “You have just fallen right into my trap, Thalia. I sure know how to play these cards well.”
- Thalia’s POV
- “Are you okay?”, I heard Mia’s voice as I opened my eyes.
- I tried to sit up but I still feel tiredness in my body.
- “Yes”, I forced a smile.
- “Thalia, you scared me. What happened to you?”, Tyrus asked. That was when I noticed that I was under the shade of a huge tree and just Tyrus and Mia were there.
- “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to”, I explained.
- “It’s not about whether you mean to or not. No one will deliberately want to fall ill. I just want to know how you feel. Was it something you are or drank?” Tyrus asked.
- “No, I’m not sure I ate anything that would hurt me.” I said that with my head bowed unable to look into their eyes.
- “How do you feel?” Mia asked.
- “Just a bit tired and dizzy.” I replied.
- “I think we should get one of the nurses to get her checked.” Mia responded.
- “I’ll do that. Let’s take her into the den first. Can you walk?” Tyrus asked.
- “Of course I can.” I responded with a brief smile on my face.
- Tyrus helped me up and I walked gently by his side as he held my hand.
- I got inside and laid down gently on my bed.
- “Just keep your eyes on her, I’ll go get the nurse.” Tyrus said to Mia and he made his way out.
- “I’m sorry about what happened. Daciana is glad that you are better now. She has been bothered all day but she stepped out to get some things for the house not long ago. I’ll make you something to eat, okay?” Mia said.
- “Okay, Thank you so much Mia.” I responded.
- “Anytime,” she said and made her way to the kitchen.
- There I was , left alone with thoughts of fear. What was happening to me? Was I just destined to die even after successful escaping from Valen?
- These thoughts flooded through my mind as I waited for the two to return.
- Valen’s POV
- “How dare you? All of you stupid guards, how dare you let Thalia disappear right under your noses and still no one has been able to find her ? This is the third day and you stand here, telling me stories?”, I yelled in anger at the guards standing in front of me. Time was going and I needed to get an heir as soon as possible before the time given to me elapses and someone else is comes to take my possible as Alpha.
- “Are you all being paid to hide Thalia or what is going on?”
- “I promise, Alpha, we are not.” One said.
- “We are telling you the truth. Maybe she has help. Someone is keeping her away from you and is protecting her. That’s why we haven’t been able to get her.” Another said.
- “And who do you think that is? I know all the packs around this territory. The very mention of my name makes shiver in fear. Who then dares to keep my Thalia?”, I asked, wondering deeply.
- “Where did you meet miss her the last time again?”, I asked again, I needed to get all the clue possible.
- “At Brookwood, that’s where we lost track of her scent .I believe that wolf who had her now had something to do with it but no one showed up that day,” one of the guard responded.
- “Mmmm….how about we pay those around us a visit?” I smirked, stroking my hair. “No one will ever take Thalia from me, no one.”
- I said as I sat down.
- “You all can leave now.” I commanded and they all bowed and left, leaving me by myself. I thought about everything that had happened and I got even more angry at the entire situation.
- Where in the world was Thalia and how could I find her?
- “What if I just get myself another breeder before the time given to me elapses?” I thought, stroking my chin.
- “But still, I’ll need to find Thalia and teach her some good lesson.” I said finally.
- Thalia’s POV
- As I laid on the bed, lost in my anxious thoughts, Mia came with her excited look.
- “Food is ready!” she said, carrying a tray with a bowl of soup.
- Just about the same moment, Tyrus returned to the den with a middle-aged nurse
- “I’ll just keep this until you’re done with the nurse.” Mia said as she returned the tray.
- “Thalia, this is Elara. She’ll take a look at you and figure out what’s going on,” Tyrus said reassuringly, giving my hand a gentle squeeze.
- Elara approached, her expression calm and professional.
- “Hello Thalia , how are you?” she asked d with a smile.
- “Hello Elara, I’m better now.” I smiled back.
- She nodded and began to ask me basic questions about my symptoms, how long they had persisted, and if I had any underlying health conditions. I answered as truthfully as I could, trying to recall every detail.
- After the initial questioning, Elara checked my temperature, pulse, and examined my eyes.
- “Can you excuse us for a minute, please?” She said to Tyrus and Mia.
- “Oh sure,” Tyrus responded and they moved back.
- She whispered a few words to me Tyrus and Mia, strained to catch any hints of the conversation.
- “Do you have a mate?” she asked.
- “Mate? No?” I responded.
- “But have you had any sexual relations in recent times?” she continued.
- “Yes I have.” I responded truthfully, pains and regret written all over me.
- “I don’t know if you will be happy to hear this or not but you’re pregnant.” She said to me.
- My eyes opened wide, “Pregnant?” I asked as I placed my hand gently on my stomach. I remembered my dream and it all became even more scary.
- “Yes,” she responded softly. “Calm down, you don’t need to worry or panic. I’ll be here to see you through it until you have the baby, alright.” She said softly as she squeezed my hand gently.
- I nodded without another word. She kept looking at me, then I forced a smile and spoke, “Okay, Thank you.”
- She turned to were Mia and Tyrus were standing and signaled for them to come. The atmosphere in the room became tense as they exchanged concerned glances.
- “Thalia, I want you to relax, alright.” Elara assured me, her voice soothing.
- “Mia can you please ensure she doesn’t stress herself?”
- “I definitely will,” Mia responded as shebusied herself setting the tray with the soup on a small table.
- The nurse concluded the examination and leaned in to whisper something in Tyrus’ ear. I couldn’t hear their words, but Tyrusnodded with a stern expression.
- “I’ll be on my way now.” She said.
- “Thank you so much , Elara.” Tyrus responded as he saw her on her way.
- After few seconds, Tyrus was back.
- “Thalia, I’m going to prepare some herbs for you as Elarainstructed.”
- “Was that what she whispered to your ears?” I asked curiously.
- “Yes or is there something else you were expecting?” he asked looking at me with a serious face.
- “No, I just wanted to know.” I responded.
- “Mia will stay here to keep an eye on you,” Tyrus said, his concern evident in his eyes.
- As Tyrus left the den to gather herbs, Mia sat by my side. “Thalia, everything will be fine. Tyrus knows what he’s doing, and Elara is one of the best healers in the pack.”
- I managed a weak smile, appreciating Mia’s attempt to comfort me.
- “Here,” she said , handing me the soup.
- “Thanks a lot, Mia.” I said as I began to sip it gradually.
- “Eat well, Thalia. It’ll help you regain your strength.” She replied, gently playing with my hair.
- I had barely started eating before Daciana returned, “Oh Thalia. How are you?” she asked looking very concerned.
- “I’m sorry, I had to leave. I needed to get everything you and the others would need in the house.” She continued as she came to sit beside me, placing her hands gently on my forehead.
- “I feel better now.” I responded.
- “Elara was here to check her.” Mia said.
- “What was the diagnosis?” Daciana asked.
- “I don’t know,” Mia responded. “According to Tyrus, she only asked him to get her some herbs and he has gone to get them. He said they will help ease her symptoms.”
- Just as they spoke, I felt uneasy again and I rushed to throw up. Fear gripped Mia and Daciana as I hurriedly got up from the bed.
