• Thalia’s POV
• I had no choice than to open the door for him to come in. After all, if I persist, it won’t last for long. Since he could bring the door down with his huge muscles.
• Tears were falling from my eyes because I was scared. I didn’t know how it would feel, but I couldn’t help myself. All along the was smiling, as the guards stood outside and waited for him.
• He held my shivering hands and tried to assure me saying “ you are the lucky one to bear our child, you got my veins pumping.. and I will pour like rain.” He spoke calmly and my fears increased.
• Alpha Valen forced himself on me, I did nothing but scream. He was too huge for me to even imagine fighting , asides that, his guards were outside and any funny move will mean my death.
• He was choking me, and I was finding it hard to breathe all along, while he was having all the pleasures. But I had to endure the pain, but the thought that I didn’t know when this would end made it even more painful.
• When he was done, as he disengaged, he said, “You cooperated well. I didn’t expect that.”
• “You are such a good girl,” he patted my head. I wished I could hold his neck and strangle him.
• He untied me with a wicked smile on his face.
• “I’ll be expecting a baby soon,” he laughed in an evil manner.
• “Why?” I asked .
• “Why I would be expecting a baby?” He looked at me amazed.
• “Why me? Why are you doing all of this?” I went further to ask.
• “You have a pure blood and hold on, before you think you are special, I could have anyone else but my Uncle begged me to take you and since my father even in his sick bed was in support, I had to. I need an heir to seal my coronation as Alpha. It’s a win-win for me. I am satisfying my lust and I will be having a baby too. Life is so good.”
• “Really? Why are you so wicked?” I wanted to scream but I had to hold it in, I had to hold myself back from expressing all the emotions I felt.
• No matter what I said or did, it would not get to this heartless beast standing in front of me.
• Tears rolled down my cheeks as I watched him leave. I laid there imagining how I would bare children into this wicked world.
• It went on consistently for a week. The Alpha would force himself on me, tie my legs and I would cry after he’s done until I decided to speak to one of my caregivers about it.
• “I’m so sorry my dear but you cannot resist him, he’s Alpha and that’s what you are here for.” She said to me.
• “So I’ll continue this life of pain?” I asked.
• “I’ve seen how he has injured you severally when bathing you. One thing I’d advice is that you run away, escape before you die in his hands.”
• “But how can I do that?” I asked.
• “Leave that to me, I’ll help you if you are will to.” She said.
• “Why do you want to help me?” I asked curiously.
• “You are such a beautiful young wolf, very innocent. Alpha Valen in the other hand has been nothing but a pain in the ass. He doesn’t deserve anything good.”
• “I know what he’s capable of doing. He has threatened me several times and what’s worse is that I cannot go back home, my stepfather will kill me if he doesn’t,” I explained.
• “Then I’d advice you open you heart to him since you want to be here forever. Just decide to have pleasure and stop resisting him so he wouldn’t hurt you,” She said.
• “Pleasure?” I thought, “ The Alpha was the last person who wants me to find pleasure.”
• But I didn’t say these words to her. I just nodded my head in agreement to what she had said.
• Another night came and he was here to do the usual.
• “You don’t need to tie me,” I tried to stop him.
• “But that’s how I like it. I love to see you looking helpless. It makes me feel good.” He replied.
• I didn’t argue further, I just let him have his way.
• But I noticed it was more enjoyable this time. I began to think it was because of what my caregiver said but I asked my wolf within and she reveals I and Alpha Valen are mates and we have began bonding.
• “Mates?” I was stunned. “How can I be mates with this evil wolf? This means our destinies are connected? Why Valen?” I wondered.
• The moment he was done, I looked in his eyes and suddenly I desired him. I felt really attracted to him so I summoned the courage to tell him.
• “My wolf says we are mates,” I blotted out without looking for a conversation starter.
• He looked at me and laughed loudly in a way that made me feel embarrassed.
• “Stop daydreaming or should I say night dreaming? You will never be anything to me more than a sex toy. You are here to breed children. So don’t let yourself imagine anything funny because that would be to your own pain. The moment I’m done with you, you can go ahead to look for a mate anywhere. I would never be your mate.” He said, as he made to leave.
• I couldn’t believe my ears, it was at this moment, it dawned on me. My reality, my dreams, my world, all dawned on me, and I was heartbroken, I didn’t know when I started to cry.
• I remembered my mother, I remembered my sister, in as much as she wasn’t nice to me of lately, I still loved her. I just wished I could run far away, to a place, where no one, not even the alpha would find me.
• The next morning I was still lying down faced down when my caregiver came to attend to me.
• “Thalia, it’s morning.”
• “Please leave me alone. I’m not bathing or eating today.” I responded coldly.
• “But you have to. That’s my job. You don’t want the Alpha to meet you looking like this.”
• “I don’t want him to meet me at all. I wish he could meet me dead. Can you poison my drink or something so I’ll just die?” I spoke sincerely.
• “Thalia? Don’t say that. The walls have ears.” She whispered.
• “Alright, talk to me. What is it?” she asked.
• “I hate Valen Drake with every fibre of my being.”
• “Shhh ….keep your voice down and talk to me. What really happened? Did he beat you?” she kept asking.
• “I found out we are mates.”
• She gasped and covered her mouth.
• “Really? Isn’t that a good thing? Meaning no more painful sex. Isn’t that what you want?” she asked.
• “I summoned the courage and I told him and he said I will never be anything more than a sex toy,” I was sobbing at this time.
• She pulled me close and gave me a warm, tight hug.
• “I’m so sorry, he’ll come to realize that soon. I know you are bonding with him already and I’m sure he’ll come to love you soon.”
• “Maybe when I’m dead.” I threatened.
• “Stop saying that.”
• “I’m just saying the truth. Spending more time here is going to kill me or I’ll kill myself.”
• “I know you are pained. Sorry, come and have a cold bath, it’ll be refreshing.”
• She managed to pull me up from my bed and I have a long shower because we spent majority of the time talking.
• “I’ll get you out of here, Thalia,” she said finally before she left.
• That night, after Alpha Valen had come and gone. I began to hear some strange sounds. It was scary because I didn’t expect him to be coming again. I sat tight on my bed hoping something bad wasn’t going to happen.
• I could hear the conversation of the guards, their laughter and funny jokes and that encouraged me but suddenly they stopped talking. I could hear footsteps, as though someone was tiptoeing. I sat down frightened but then I felt like someone was bulging my door.
• I began to push the door, no one responded. I shook the door vehemently out of fear. Then someone answered.
• “Quiet”, the voice whispered. “Don’t get us caught. We are trying to save you”.
• “Save me?” I wondered.
• I decided to stay calm yet ready to face whatever comes.
• The door suddenly opened and I saw my care giver and two other male wolves. They weren’t close friends but I could recognize them in the dark. I saw them the day I was brought into the palace and they didn’t seem to be nice people. I wondered why they were helping me.
• “What are you doing? Why are you here? Where are the guards?” I asked all these questions in a hurry, confused and afraid.
• “We’ve drugged the guards,” my caregiver responded, her voice trembling with the gravity of the situation. “You need to escape now, Thalia.”
• “Why are you doing this?” I asked.
• “I care about you.” She responded.
• “But what if he discovers you out. He’ll kill you. I’d rather stay.”
• “I’ll gladly give my life in place of yours. Please go, Thalia. I can’t watch you suffer in pains till death.”
• The way she sounded suggested that she really meant what she was saying.
• “Just Escape!” ,one of the men encouraged. “Don’t be afraid”.
• I wanted to ask more questions, Will they be safe after letting me go? But I couldn’t ask because I knew there was no time for all of those.
• “Thank you”, I managed to say and I gave my caregiver a quick hug.
• As I stepped out of my room, I could feel my heart racing, every beat matched my foot step.
• “Hurry, so you don’t get caught” , one said.
• “Go, Thalia, go!” urged the other through the frantic beating of my heart and they all ran away . So I knew I had to increase my pace to make sure I went far away, beyond Valen’ reach before morning. The thought that Valen will get me back no matter how far I went tried to weaken me but I knew I had to try.
• “You can do this,” My wolf encouraged. “But you shouldn’t have escaped, he’s your mate.”
• “What? He doesn’t care about me. Do you want me dead? I have to do this for myself, for us.”
• “No more talking, I need to move really fast,” I said trying to end the conversation.
• “You can switch form when you need me to take over.”
• “I will but not yet.”
• So I ran as fast as I could in the tunnels under the pack estate. I ran as if my life depended on it, because it truly did.
