• A day hadn’t passed yet since I left the candy shop, but somehow I missed being on Mama’s side. At least she wouldn’t hurt me as long as I obeyed her. But I was not sure if that would be possible with an alpha in a beast cycle whom I would be spending the night with.
• A beast cycle, according to Dustin, was a phase that the four alphas of the great packs had to go through when turning at the age of 22. It was the perfect age for them to mark their mate and start a family. Dustin said it must be the moon goddess’ curse in exchange for power to rule.
