Chapter 3 The Emotions

  • She walked in and opened the door on the other side without hesitation. The automobile soon restarted. Cora noticed that Byron was still holding a document with a concentration expression in his hand. Cora wasn't sure if she should say something or keep quiet so as not to bother him. He unexpectedly took the initiative to inquire, "Are you in need of money?" Cora was surprised for a moment, but she didn't believe she had anything to hide. "Yes, I am." "How much do you need?" "More than 50K." Byron pulled out his checkbook, scribbled a series of digits on a check, and handed it to Cora. Cora paused for a while before returning the check for $100,000 to him.
  • "I can't accept this." They've never spoken to each other before yesterday night. They are nearly strangers to one another. If she took his money right now, it'd make her feel as if he's simply doing it for S**. … Byron was taken aback by her refusal. He looked at the check for a few seconds before returning it. "But maybe you can give me some advice?" Cora said. "Do you know how I can make some money quickly?" "All the ways to make quick money are written in the law books," Byron said with a half-smile.
  • Cora gave an uneasy smile and answered, "Right." If she was imprisoned, her mother's treatment costs would double. Byron offered, "What if I get you a job?" just as Cora was regretting turning down the money. "Okay. However, I am required to work in the hospital from Monday to Friday." Could you give me a part-time job?" "The lounge we were at last night... went to Spire 73 to work in the evening," he went on to say. At dusk, in Spire 73, the city's favorite leisure and entertainment destination for wealthy young men. "Byron, how does it feel to be harassed by your nephew's fiancee?" Byron's good friend, Harry, was drinking and conversing with him while wearing a flowery shirt.
  • Byron recognized Harry's reference to Cora. "Engagement is off," he stated as he sipped his wine. "Which fiancée?" "That's correct, and dn. Cora Lane is quite extraordinary. I rarely encounter a girl with a decent face, large breasts, and a fat body. I'm sure a lot of people want to tap into that now that she's unmarried." Words spread quickly, especially among the "rich crowd." Everyone had heard about Cora Lane's fall from grace and the end of her engagement to Eason Patton. When Harry said, "I bet a lot of people would want to tap that," he was referring to Byron specifically. He wore three ties around his neck.
  • He had thrown a party for Byron to appear in Spire 73 the day before. That's why, when Byron left Spire 73 with Cora, Harry saw everything. Even though he was clutching the a8s of a Russian model, he noticed Byron take Cora's hand and walk towards the elevators out of the corner of his eye. They were both of legal drinking age. It was obvious what would happen after they left the bar together. "So, how does it feel to sleep with the same girl your nephew slept with?" Harry nudged Byron. "Who says my nephew slept with her?" Byron scowled at Harry. Harry's jaw dropped to the floor. "No f*cking way," he said as he moved in closer. They were, however, engaged!"
  • Byron ignored Harry, but the more Byron ignored him, the more he became attracted. "Let's go!!" Talk to me, man. "How did you find it?" Byron gave Harry a harsh stare and spoke only one word, "no." But Harry's query jogged his memory of the night before—Cora whimpering beneath him, then shaking her legs as he took her from behind. Harry was correct; she had a gorgeous baby. He clutched her tiny waist and watched as her juicy butt engulfed his shaft when he thrust from behind. The air seemed to have gotten thinner all of a sudden. Byron quietly opened his collar a bit more. "Aww, come on, man, you're no fun." Harry was candid regarding male-female relationships. He'd seen Cora at a dinner party once, a long time ago, but he recalled the blue satin gown she wore.
  • It emphasized her curves, and even someone like him, who has slept with innumerable women, craved a taste... But, at the time, Eason was her fiance, and he kept a watchful eye on her, making sure no man came near her. Harry was anxious to give it a shot now that the Lane family had been split apart and the Patton family had set a firm line between them. But Byron abruptly cut him off. "Maybe I'll tell you next time." "When is the next time?" Is there going to be another time? Don't say I didn't warn you; what if Jane discovers it?" Byron's consideration of a "next time" surprised Harry.
  • Normally, these kinds of things would be over, especially for Byron, who has a girl his family has chosen for him. Jane was the "approved bride" because she hailed from a good family and had a good appearance. She's also a doctor with a kind heart, which is unusual in their culture. Jane was exceptional, in Harry's opinion. "Why should I care if Jane finds out?" "Wait a minute, what? "I assumed you'd marry Jane!" Cora entered the lounge before Harry could say anything. "Oh, she looks good." Harry yelled. Byron turned around and noticed that lovely form when he gazed in the direction of Harry's gaze.
