Chapter 1 Engage In Sexual Relations With Him
- Tower Seventy-three is the tallest sky bar in the western hemisphere, situated directly atop the InterContinental Hotel. Cora Lane was seated with a very fine-looking man. The moonlight glinted on her ruby-red lips. Perilously enticing With a sly smile, the man said to her, "You want to k*ss me? Are you unaware of who I am? Cora's speech was slurred, and her vision was impaired due to alcohol.
- "Who are you?" she stammered. Cora could tell this man was attractive, even through her beer goggles. His features gave the impression that he was Greek. This guy is really cute. As she extended her hand to kiss him again, she thought. Naturally, Byron forbade her from doing so. He grasped her wrist in midair and muttered, "I'm your fiancé, Eason Patton's uncle," in a voice that was dangerously low.
- I should really be referred to as Uncle Byron. Was he genuinely unknown to this girl? However, he clearly recalls having met her at a family gathering earlier. Cora's attractive face furrowed at the mention of Eason Patton: "Fiancé, my as! Your nephew is a scuba diver and a cheater. It was unusual for someone to publicly criticize a member of his family in front of Byron Hansen. Everyone is aware that Byron Hansen is the richest person in New York and the de facto head of the Hansen company. Byron is the next in line to pass away after the elderly Mr. Hansen.
- "Eason betrayed me, so why can't I sleep with his uncle?" Cora asked, grinning as she drew in closer to Byron. With a focused gaze, Byron said to Cora, "This is your last warning." Byron felt something crack inside of him when Cora ignored him and leaned in for a k*ss. Her eyelids flickered close.
- "You requested it." Byron didn't hold back this time. Byron was staying in an elite-level suite, just a few floors below the bar. Even so, the elevator ride seemed to go on forever. Byron and Cora went into a frenzy once they were inside the room. Different ways cause clothes to fall to the floor. The only minor snag in their unexpected compatibility came when Cora felt Byron's shoulder knife scar. She wanted to ask him how he was stabbed, but her question turned into groans since he was buried so far inside her.
- They continued for several hours. Cora was quite sore the next morning—she wasn't sure how many times they had done it. particularly because it's her first time. There was a hint of crimson on the white Egyptian cotton. Byron had woken up and was staring at her. He hurriedly averted his gaze and made his way to the restroom after glancing at the flash of red. He had already taken a shower and put on some clothes when he emerged.
- He noticed that Cora's dress was damaged, forcing her to change into the hotel's bathrobe. "Eason broke off the engagement with you, so you are planning to become his aunt-in-law for revenge?" he questioned, half-seriously. Cora responded in a semi-joking manner after a brief period of shock, saying, "Being Eason's aunt doesn't sound too horrible if I can't be his wife! However, I'm not sure if Mr. Hansen will offer me this chance." Don't even consider it."
- Byron was grinning, but his tone was devoid of humor. Cora realized what he was saying. This was nothing more than a one-night fling. The fact that Byron Hansen is known as the "ice king" did not surprise Cora. It's not feasible to pursue a committed relationship. Furthermore, it's not like she genuinely desired a relationship with him thereafter. "Thanks, it was fun last night." She dismissed it with a simple smile.
- She was dumped by Eason yesterday. As fate would have it, she stumbled with Byron Hansen while getting a drink at Spire 73. This was not what she had anticipated either. "I'm leaving because I have some business to attend to. Just go downstairs whenever you're ready; I've already called for a car to take you home. I'm grateful, Mr. Hansen. They didn't exchange "goodbye" words.
- after Byron had made it quite obvious that they would never again see one another. Apart from that, fate never follows our plans. *** That day, Cora received a letter from the hospital when she checked her mailbox after returning home. The medical bills for her mother were overdue.
- Again. This time, they would have to send it to debt collection if she couldn't pay on time. Her credit would be completely destroyed. Devastated by reality, Cora found herself forced to visit Eason Patton's residence. "Eason, is it okay if I borrow $50,000?" My mother is in the hospital, and my family is bankrupt, so I know I shouldn't be asking you. It must be done immediately.
- Eason was already feeling horrible about cheating, so when he saw Cora's humble request, he felt even worse for her. "Cora, please enter." While you wait, I'll go write you a check. Please enjoy some water." I'm grateful. I swear to pay you back. Byron Hansen and Eason's mother, Lydia, were standing in the living room when Cora followed Eason into the Patton Mansion corridor. Perhaps Byron heard her footsteps because, in the following moment, he turned to face her, and their eyes met.
