Chapter 2 Behave Like A Sweet Girl
- Byron remained silent. He merely gave Cora a chilly gaze. His countenance momentarily changed to one of mockery, but it swiftly returned to its usual state. Less than twenty-four hours ago, they had S** with the understanding that they would not see each other again. Cora understood why Byron was staring at her with a hint of mockery; he must view her as a cunning gold digger. Even though she told herself not to worry about what he thought, she couldn't help but feel horrible. Lydia noticed her as well and said, "Byron, please take a seat first." After taking care of this, I'll be right over. Lydia scowled and hurried over. "Eason, why did you bring her in here again?"
- She said it calmly, but it was clear she was angry. "Mom, she needs to pay the hospital's expenses. Really, the only option left for Cora is to borrow money from me. Conversely, Eason informed Lydia of the truth about what had transpired. "Take out a loan? Cora is only hounding you because she has money; you two are no longer engaged! Lydia's gaze flew upstairs, obviously agitated by Cora's presence."Go quickly and tell her to go." I feel so bad about myself just by looking at her. Although Cora anticipated Lydia to be aloof, she wasn't prepared for Lydia to be overtly cruel. She was treated quite well by Lydia once, when her family was wealthy.
- Did I not hear Lydia remark that you've always wished I was your daughter? Oh, so your entire attitude has changed just because my family is suddenly bankrupt? Even with Cora's fingers firmly planted in her palms, she was unable to contain her rage and retaliated. She actually knew exactly why the Patton family had called off the engagement. Even still, Lydia's complete shift in attitude felt like a cut to the heart. Cora genuinely believed that they would one day form a family. "Cease discussing the past. Your father is an awful businessman, which is why your family is bankrupt. Your mother has gone insane, your brother is in jail for financial fraud, and he chose the easy route and leaped off a bridge. You really are a liability!" But Eason needs someone who can help him—his career is on the rise," Lydia went on.
- "Lydia, I'm not here to get back together with Eason," Cora said, fighting the desire to roll her eyes. I only need to take out a little loan. "Eason, who's there?" was said by someone upstairs before Lydia could reply. Cora was taken aback to see Mia when she looked up. Eason found someone else; Cora knew that. She simply didn't anticipate that Mia, from college, would be there. "Mia?" "Cora? I assumed you would be sobbing uncontrollably someplace. Is your father not dead? Why are you in this place? With a snarl, Mia approached Eason as though she were the head of the household. She went so far as to hold his hand.
- Mia prevented Eason from taking his hand away, even though he wanted to. All he could do was steal a glance at Cora. Even though he was aware of Mia's family's ability to assist him significantly, he still didn't want Cora to know that Mia was the "new girl." Mia was not only enormously obese and ugly, but she was also a very disagreeable person. Sadly, there's no longer any justification for keeping it hidden. Mia's bond with Eason was visible to even the blind.
- Cora felt queasy at the abrupt understanding, and the idea of pleading with him for money made her want to throw up. She'd sooner beg on the streets than take out a loan from him. She then spilled her guts. “Hey Eason, didn’t you say before Mia reminded you of Shriek, the troll? You're dating her now? Whoa. Well done. "However?" Red in the face, Mia scowled at Eason. Cora continued, "When Mia asked you out in college, you told me you'd rather die than go out with her," before Eason could reply. Why did you decide to change your mind?
- His Assistance "You b*tch, Cora!" Mia almost cried out. Eason intervened right away, saying, "I never said such a thing! It's not Mia's fault if you take your anger out on her. Don't be pissed off. Eason also went defensive, but it was unclear if he was protecting Mia or just embarrassed. "I thought you were a proper lady; I didn't know you'd be so rude!" Lydia also spoke out because she felt humiliated. She was making fun of Cora's duplicity. Cora swiftly responded, "At least I'm not the one whoring out my son for business benefit," realizing what Lydia meant. Lydia stamped her foot in frustration.
- "What topic are you discussing? Eason and Miason complement one another well. Sure enough, Cora snorted coldly. So why, throughout their time in college, didn't Eason consent to go out with her? Do I really need to state that everyone in this room is stunned? With trembling wrath, Mia reached up to give Cora a slap. However, a man's respectful voice interrupted. "Cease!" Astonished, Cora turned up to see that Byron was standing directly behind her! His legs and stature were amazing, and he was dressed elegantly in a black suit. The three others spotted Byron at this same moment. especially Mia She was unable to contain her amazement. Put the title here.
- "Byron, this girl is the ex-girlfriend of Eason." She tried to borrow money from Eason. But she insulted us when she realized they couldn't reconcile. What a horrible individual! The first to regain consciousness was Lydia. Her first action was to disparage Cora. Even though Eason felt bad for Cora, he had absolutely no plan to defend her. He felt that Cora should allow Byron to teach her manners because she was acting too haughtily. Cora had assumed that since Byron and Lydia were related, he would support her. She anticipated Byron's retaliation, but she was shocked when he asked, "So that's an excuse to hit Cora?" Not just Cora was in disbelief this time.
- Even Lydia and Eason gave Byron a startled look. They weren't prepared for him to side with her! Lydia was considerably older than Byron, and it would be awkward for her to apologize to her younger brother, so Eason could only take the initiative to speak up for his mother. "You're correct, Uncle. I apologize. Getting physical is never acceptable." "I'm not the one you should apologize to." Eason and Cora's emotions darkened as soon as Byron's voice faded. Did Byron want them to apologize to Cora? Cora was now a nob*dy! It would be impolite to apologize to her, yet... Byron was standing right next to me.
- Cora came up first, as Eason and Lydia were debating what to do. "There's no need to apologize because I'm not going to accept it." Let us take this opportunity to clarify everything." When Cora replied, "Eason, just like you wanted, our engagement is over," Eason and Cora locked eyes. To be clear, the feelings are mutual." Her smooth tone had a trace of apathy to it, which made Eason feel uneasy in his chest, as if he had truly lost Cora forever. "Cora, come on." Eason impulsively extended his hand. However, Cora did not allow him to continue his sentence. She turned around and walked out of the Patton Mansion, her head held high. Lydia's voice burst out as Byron was looking at Cora's back. "Byron, don't let these insignificant people ruin our mood." I've requested that the chef prepare."
- Byron cut her off before she could finish, saying, "I have to be somewhere; let's talk later." "However, Bryon! "The factory..." Lydia intended to assign two of the Hansen family's production lines to the Patton family, so she summoned Byron. "We can table that discussion." Byron made no hesitation. He stormed away after saying that. Lydia could only mutter curses to herself. "It's all because of that bich!" I would have brought those two manufacturing lines over today if it hadn't been for her." Eason, on the other hand, was still staring in the direction Cora had gone, disregarding Lydia's curses.
- Mia, on the other hand, had forgotten about everything since she first laid eyes on Byron Hansen. She had assumed that Eason's appearance was already exceptional; she had not expected his uncle to be even more so. She was so preoccupied with how attractive Byron was that she didn't hear a word Lydia said. Cora strolled aimlessly on the street after leaving the Patton family's home, wondering about where she could acquire a huge sum of money for her mother's treatment. A tire squeal interrupted her stream of thought. Byron Hasen's Rolls-Royce Phantom drove up next to Cora, much to her astonishment. He rolled down his window and said, "Get in the car."
