Chapter 6 Why Didn't You Go In?
- With a smile, Jay deleted the message.
- When Hannah returned to the hospital, she found that Miranda and Tracy were still inside the ward. Standing outside the ward, she suddenly felt that she had no place there. She was sure that the atmosphere would turn awkward as soon as she pushed the door open. However, she was still worried about Godrick. After all, he just woke up after the surgery and was still weak.
- Hannah looked around and found a bench at the end of the corridor. She had not closed her eyes since last night, and her legs were very sore. She wanted to sit down and have a rest, but she fell asleep as soon as she sat down.
- When Calvin arrived at the hospital, he saw Hannah sleeping soundly on the bench. Her hair was in a mess. He could not help but muse. How could she sleep so soundly on a bench? Suddenly, a fit of anger rose in his heart. He smacked her shoulder to wake her up.
- Hannah was shocked. When she opened her eyes and saw Calvin, she was horrified, and immediately, her sleepiness disappeared. She looked out of the window and found that the sky had turned dark. Did he wake me up purposely?
- However, before anyone spoke, the door of the ward opened. It was Tracy. She saw Calvin passing by the corridor from the ward window just now. Seeing that he did not come in, she came out to have a look. Although Tracy was not married to Liam yet, she had always regarded herself as a member of the Fullerton family.
- Calvin was staring at Hannah, who was still lying on the bench. His tall figure covered Hannah’s body. From the direction Tracy saw them, it seemed they were chatting happily, and not only that, there was a sense of intimacy between them.
- Does Calvin have feelings for Hannah? Seeing them chatting happily, Tracy could not help but wonder.
- Forcing a smile, Tracy walked over and asked, "Why didn’t both of you go in?"
- Hearing that, Calvin did not answer. He turned around and pulled Hannah who was still in a daze. “Come on. Get up now!”
- Calvin did not even bother to answer Tracy. Obviously, he did not take her seriously. In fact, he had seen Tracy giving a hard time to the employees in the mall before. She was an arrogant and domineering girl. However, since Liam was fond of her, he did not say anything.
- Tracy’s face became stiff. Hatred began to fill her heart, like a tangled vine entangled in the bottom of her heart, occupying every inch of her body. However, she still forced herself to smile.
- Tracy chuckled and approached Hannah. Pretending to be concerned, she asked, “Why did you sleep here?" Then she took off her coat and covered Hannah’s body carefully.
- Since the day Liam met with an accident, Tracy had never been so close to Hannah before. All of a sudden, Hannah thought they had returned to the past. Without thinking too much, Hannah rubbed her eyes and called her name, “Tracy!”
- However, there was no smile in Tracy’s eyes, and Calvin noticed it.
- Tracy pulled Hannah up and gently patted Calvin's shoulder. "Come on, let’s go in. Your parents are waiting for you inside.”
- However, Calvin did not move.
- “Are you not coming?"
- Calvin happened to stand in front of Hannah and blocked her way. "Hold my arm!” he said indifferently. His face was cold and harsh like the steel bench in the corridor.
- “Huh?" Hannah was confused.
- "We just got married today. Dad will be happy to see that we’re getting close.”
- Tracy was stunned after hearing what Calvin said. Hannah did not even know how to tell Tracy yet about their marriage but Calvin brought it up so casually.
- What? They got married as soon as Liam died? Tracy exclaimed in her heart. Although she had always thought Calvin had a special feeling for Hannah, she did not think much. Now it seemed that her speculation was true. Even if Hannah was the one who caused Liam’s death, Calvin still married her no matter how much he hated her. Is he trying to protect Hannah by marrying her? And did he purposely tell me as if to warn me not to hurt Hannah again? Tracy wondered.
- Tracy's heart skipped a beat. No wonder Hannah was not convicted and sent to prison. Otherwise, there was no chance for Hannah to escape according to Calvin's character.
- “Tracy!” Just when Hannah was trying to open her mouth, Tracy interrupted her. “You guys got married?” she asked in disbelief.
- Calvin pulled Hannah's arm out of Tracy's and put it on his arm. Then he took out the marriage certificate from his suit and showed it to Tracy. After that, he kept it back in his suit again.
- Calvin could read Tracy's mind. Although he did not want to marry Hannah in the first place, he was furious when Tracy used him to bully Hannah. No matter how much he hated Hannah, she belonged to him.
- Calvin asked Ciel to look into the incident at the basement that night. He did not expect to find out Tracy was the one behind it. Tracy hired someone to take the photos. Her intention was obvious. She wanted to create a misunderstanding between Calvin and Hannah, and made Calvin hate Hannah more.
- Although Calvin could understand Tracy’s feelings, he could not accept how she used him as if he was a piece of her chess.
- Having lived in the family for so many years, Calvin did not know much about Hannah. She was always protected by Liam. In the past, she looked innocent, and her voice was so soft that one would not forget. Calvin then realized that Hannah had not called his nickname for a long time.
- “Did you see it?” Calvin asked. He had always been impatient. His face darkened. After putting away the marriage certificate, he held Hannah's hand and walked toward the ward.
- Nonetheless, Hannah was shocked to see what happened. Did he carry the marriage certificate with him all the time? Why did he want to show it to Tracy? Didn't he say that he wouldn't publicize it?
- Tracy was petrified. Did Calvin really marry that bitch? Did he forget that Hannah was the one who caused Liam’s death? How could they do that? Liam loved them so much!
- For a moment, Tracy felt betrayed. If Liam knew that, how sad would he be.
- “Tracy!" Hannah turned around and called her. She really wanted to break away from Calvin’s grip. However, she did not dare to struggle. She could not figure out what was on Calvin’s mind.
- Fortunately, Tracy did not seem to mind at all. She quickly followed them as if nothing had happened.
- Inside the ward, Miranda was the only one who did not know anything about Hannah and Calvin’s marriage. Hannah did not want to talk about it. She did not want to make things worse. Moreover, it seemed that Miranda kept glaring at her from the moment Calvin and her walked into the ward hand in hand.
