Chapter 2 No One Is Allowed to Touch Her
- Bodyguards were guarding outside the door. At first, Calvin did not bother taking notice, but the knocks on the door were getting louder and louder. He had no choice but to put on his clothes. Suddenly, he heard Godrick Fullerton's voice. “Open the door, you brat!”
- Dad? Why is he here? Calvin wondered and thought he had misheard. He pulled the quilt and covered Hannah’s body who was already in a befuddled state. As soon as he opened the door, a sudden gust of cold wind blew into the room, making the thin quilt flutter.
- “Achoo!" Hannah was so cold that she could not help sneezing. In fact, her whole body was shivering.
- ”What are you doing?” Godrick berated. He knew what Calvin was up to. His face darkened with anger. As the wind blew, drops of rain struck his face. His heart ached after seeing Hannah on the bed. “Take Hannah away now!” he shouted at his men.
- However, Calvin blocked the door. "No one is allowed to touch her!” He wondered why his father was acting like that for a woman like Hannah. She deserves it, Dad!
- “What? Are you disobeying my words now?" Godrick asked. He knew Calvin had been rebellious since he was a child. Although he was not convinced if Calvin would listen to him, he had to take Hannah away no matter what. He felt sorry for her.
- Godrick was sad to lose Liam, and he had not stepped out of the house after Liam’s funeral. However, he came right away after receiving a message from Hannah at seven that evening.
- “Uncle Godrick, help me!” Hannah sent the message and even sent him her location.
- Seeing that, Godrick thought of Calvin at once. He knew Liam’s death gave Calvin a great blow. However, he did not expect Calvin would be so desperate and do such a thing to Hannah.
- Standing at the door with raindrops falling on his hair, Calvin’s shirt was wet. His sexy collarbone was partly visible, and his face was evilly handsome. However, his tone was somewhat indifferent. “She killed Liam, and I’m going to ruin her. We are even.”
- “Calvin, you know Hannah. She’s not the kind of person who would do anything to harm Liam! How could you believe she didn’t save him, and watch him die? You’re always so smart. Why can’t you be rational this time? You and Liam have been like brothers to her for so many years!”
- Hearing that, Calvin remained unmoved. He was furious. “That’s why I haven't sent her to prison! Otherwise, do you think she can still be here? No! For God’s sake! I will send her to the police, and she will spend her entire life behind bars. Just because I’ve always treated her as my sister, I can’t forgive her! Dad, Liam’s dead. We won’t see him again. Not only that, he was dead for no reason, and it’s all because of Hannah. What do we owe her? Why’re you so partial to her?”
- Calvin’s questions brought grief to Godrick. Godrick was in great despair more than anyone else in the family. He had lost his eldest son. However, he still felt it was unfair to Hannah. After all, she had grown up in the Fullerton family since she was ten. Godrick did not know how to explain. He always had feelings of guilt whenever he saw Hannah.
- Godrick, a seventy-year-old old man, stood in the dark basement. Under the heavy downpour, memories of his past flashed back in his mind. Suddenly, he had difficulty breathing. He glanced at Hannah lying on the bed. However, his vision turned blurry. In the end, he sagged on the floor and passed out.
- Luckily, Calvin caught Godrick at once. “Dad!” he yelled. The bodyguards behind Calvin also rushed over at the same time.
- “Hannah…” Godrick murmured.
- In fact, Godrick had a cerebral hemorrhage before and should not be agitated. Calvin was so scared that something might happen to Godrick if he kept irritating him. He knew he had to give in. "I know. I will ask someone to bring Hannah out."
- The driver drove the car over. Calvin slowly helped Godrick up. “Send Mr. Fullerton to the hospital now!”
- Nevertheless, Godrick still kept murmuring, “Hannah..."
- Hearing that, Calvin had no choice but to ask the bodyguards to carry Hannah into the car as well.
- Finally, Godrick felt relieved, and he stopped muttering.
- Suddenly, Calvin saw flickers of flashlights opposite him. Nonetheless, he was in such a hurry that he had no time to figure out what it was. He quickly got in the car and rushed to the hospital.
- Outside the operating room, Calvin was waiting. Although the doctor who was performing the operation was the most experienced neuro specialist in the hospital, more than two hours had passed. What if…
- Calvin did not dare to think about it. Liam had passed away. If something bad happened to Godrick again, his mother, Miranda Reeds, would collapse.
- Just as Calvin was waiting anxiously, Hannah appeared. The effect of the drug on her had worn off. Her damp hair stuck on her forehead, and she looked unusually pale.
- "How is Uncle Godrick?” she asked.
- Hannah’s legs were all swollen, and not only that, she was staggering and had to lean on the bar. She was wearing a simple white shirt, which seemed to belong to one of the bodyguards. However, her face still looked beautiful.
- “Why bother to ask?” Calvin was exasperated at the sight of her. “Ain’t you the one who informs my dad?”
- Hannah had no choice but to nod. “Yes, it was me. But..."
- “You’re an unsympathetic woman. Don’t you know my dad is in poor health? How could you involve him? Our family has raised you for so many years, but you used us one by one just to save yourself! Are you satisfied to see that he’s lying in bed now?” Calvin asked.
- Hannah did not know how to explain. After the funeral, Calvin instructed his men to escort her to the car and even forced her to take some pills. Although she felt a strong sense of foreboding, she could not resist. Calvin was so horrifying. He gave her a feeling of oppression as if he was going to swallow her alive. The only person she could ask for help was Godrick. Besides Godrick, who else in Greenville could suppress Calvin and save her?
- In the face of the danger, Hannah had to think of a way to save herself. However, she did not expect Godrick would pass out. In fact, she felt more guilty than anyone else. After what happened to Liam, the only person who did not detest her was Godrick. If she could turn back time, she would never send the message to ask him for help.
- Standing still in front of the operating room, Hannah was worried. Nonetheless, she could not say anything to defend herself. She knew she was wrong to get Godrick involved. In fact, what Calvin said was right, she was selfish.
- Ciel rushed in from outside the hospital and was stunned to see Hannah. However, he still nodded his head upon seeing her. He then quickly walked toward Calvin and whispered in his ear.
- Soon, Calvin’s face darkened.
- "Don't you feel grief when Liam’s dead? You can't wait to find a way out for yourself? How dare you try to threaten me with these blurry photos?” Calvin took the photos from Ciel’s hands and threw them to Hannah’s face. "How dare you try to plot something against me?”
- In the photos, Hannah’s face was blurry. She looked disheveled, and her body was covered with a quilt. On the contrary, Calvin’s face was clearly seen and photographed.
- "I really underestimated you." Calvin looked at Hannah sarcastically. “Did you ask someone to take these photos so that you can post them on the Internet? What’s on your mind? What do you want to do?”
- Looking at the pictures in disbelief, Hannah was about to say something when the door of the operating room opened.
