Chapter 49 – A Secret Pact Is Revealed

• The night sky over the city of Frostholm was absent of stars. The only light was from the moonbeams shining through the window. Eris stared outside, hoping to see a glimpse of the Moon Goddess herself but to no avail. Stretching her long leg to the air, she gracefully caressed her ivory skin as it glistened in the moonlight. Cale took a moment from feasting on her breast to admire the gentle strokes she was taking. A small ping of jealously ran through his heart as he wanted only his fingers to touch her. They had just finished having sex for the third time this evening and Cale could not get enough of her.
• The wind blew around the hidden chamber where Eris and Cale had their secret rendezvouses. As Isabella’s general, Cale was loyal to his queen in every way. Except when it came to Eris. He was enamored with her, devoted, obsessed even. He relished the moments they had with one another as they were few and far between. Tonight, however, Eris sent him a message that she needed to see him.
• “My love,” Cale's voice was a soft murmur, his tone heavy with a mix of contentment and longing. “Why did you summon me?”
