Chapter 24 – Coping With The Loss

• In the days that followed the death of Alpha Jaron, Andromeda, and the rest of her family, tried desperately to put the pieces of their lives back together again. A steady stream of mourners and well-wishers came to the New Moon packhouse throughout the day, seeking an audience with the Luna, to offer their respects to the fallen Alpha. Vyse, Andromeda, Peter, and Michael did their best to meet with each visitor but in the end, they couldn’t.
• Alexander made it a point to spend every minute he could with Andromeda and her family. Her frail appearance continued to grow worrisome. Sitting at the dining room table with her, he put an arm around her chair and moved a little closer. Staring at the empty table, she was lost in her own thoughts. Alexander didn’t want to say anything that would trigger her tears again, so he pulled her close and just wrapped his arms around her. Laying her forehead on his shoulder, she let out a small sigh and closed her eyes.
• “You have to eat something, my love.” he said softly, rocking her gently in his arms. “You haven’t eaten much in the past few days.”
