Chapter 11 – Learning The Truth

  • The throne room at the palace never ceased to amaze. While the palace itself, with its towers and spires reaching towards the heavens, sprawling gardens, and ornate balconies, was a sight to be seen, it was the throne room that was Alexander’s favorite.
  • The large room, filled with murals from the long history of wolves, large marble columns and ornate draperies, was always filled with the voices and sounds of the kingdom. On the southern wall stood a colossal stained-glass window, depicting the wolf most revered deity, the Moon Goddess. Below the window, in the center of the room, stood a magnificent throne. Made of rich ancient oak, the throne had been passed on through generations of kings and queens.
  • Some of Alexander’s fondest memories of growing up in the palace were in this room. He would spend hours watching in awe of his father, Alpha King Martin. King Martin was already fair and just with his subjects. Ruling based on knowledge, not emotion. He did whatever was right for his people, the kingdom, and the realm. Even when he had to pass hard judgments, he was careful with his rulings and did not react harshly. Alexander would spend hours watching him and listening to the trials and tribulations of the people. He never saw his father get tired or speak out irrationally to his people. He wanted to be a king just like his father.
