- Once I got out of the house, I ran west. Growing up, I was always taught to find a river because most often than not, a river led to a town and from a town, I could find my way home. With tears in my eyes, I ran. I just wanted to be free, I didn’t care where I was going and I didn’t even realize how long I had been running.
