Chapter 8

• "You better be fast with that, I want my hair looking breathtaking else you will be in big trouble," Madison said to me as I style her hair.
• I simply ignored her rants and continued with brushing her extension.
• The week had been a rollercoaster of emotion for me but thanks to the goddess, I came out alive after the hell of punishment been melted out to me.
• I had just finished working at the construction site and was finally given food after seven days of starvation and torture.
• I couldn't even count how many times I collapsed.
• I was on my way to our tiny room to rest and see how my mother had been doing when Madison called me to style her hair.
• I wanted to decline but I just couldn't, I had to follow her into her room.
• "Maddy guess what?" Anna yelled from outside coming into the room with a big smile plastered on her face.
• "What?" Madison asked sitting up, her eyes shooting up in excitement as she awaits the news from her sister.
• "Haven't you heard the latest news? Do you even check the school's blog at all you this girl?" Anna muttered sitting down on the double-seater couch beside the bed.
• "I haven't had the chance for that, you know today is Chloe's party and we are shutting it down so I'm getting ready and haven't had the time to check out the blog so what's the news about?" Madison asked curiously.
• "Damn it!!! Anna exclaimed loudly. I literally forgot about that party. Oh Anna what in the hell name were you thinking"
• "Anna!!!!!" Madison called out in an angry tone. Anna's eyes snapped to her and she started laughing.
• "Alright, I know your ears are too scratchy to wait. Well the thing is our Almighty Xander is returning to the country and would be resuming school on Monday" Anna said and immediately Madison jerked up making the brush I was holding fling out of my hands and hitting my big toe.
• I groan in pain fighting the urge to give her a hard knock. I mean what was the meaning of that? Did she just become this wild and scream so loud just because of this Xander of a person that Anna said would be resuming their school.
• "Are you kidding me, Anna? No no you must be joking cos if this is true then Maya needs to hear this" Madison screamed picking up her phone totally ignoring me.
• I needed to leave the room and I have to do that now that their minds are focused on this Xander of a guy.
• I gently dropped the brush and started walking out as fast as I could. Luckily for me, their both eyes were pinned on Madison's phone so I used the opportunity to sneak out.
• Once I'd gotten out of the room, I took to my heels running towards the direction of the attic.
• My body stinks from not bathing for two days now and I'm surprised Madison didn't talk about it.
• Maybe she wasn't in the mood to ridicule me or maybe because she barely insults me, whatever that may be, I do not care.
• I was not given water to bathe during my punishment except for once and that was two days ago.
• Getting into our room, the first place my eyes laid on was on the floor.
• Lying there on a wrapper was my mother covered in another wrapper and shivering.
• "OMG Mom!! I screamed and ran to her. I took away the wrapper she covered herself with and goodness her body was so hot that it nearly burnt my skin if I didn't retrieve it fast.
• " Mother, what has happened to you?" I asked but she couldn't reply. She managed to open her eyes and they were as red as blood.
• "What is going on mom" I cried out, tears began dropping from my eyes.
• If I hadn't been released, who knows what would have happened to my mother.
• It was obvious she got sick from thinking too much of me and crying. Who knows if she also starved herself.
• Mother stay with me okay? Nothing will happen to you" I muttered and on seeing her nod weakly, I swiftly stood up and rushed to her save.
• She has been saving money for my school and I knew about it.
• The Luna had made the Alpha stop paying for my fees saying I'm of no use to them and they would gain nothing even if I go to school so he should stop wasting money on me.
• Since my mother could not continue paying for my fees, I had to drop out and that was a year ago.
• My mother later began saving for my fees from the little she gets whenever she had the opportunity to work for people without the alpha's notice and she was able to get enough to pay my tuition and I was supposed to go for enrollment on Monday at the nearby school but now that she had fallen sick, there was nothing else for us to do other than using the money to get her drugs.
• I took out the save and since it was ceramic, I easily broke it and took out all the money in it.
• I counted them and it wasn't enough to take her to the hospital not that we're even allowed to go to any hospital anyway.
• The alpha restricted any of the pack health worker from attending to us.
• We usually sneak out to get drugs from the nearby pack since none of our pack members would agree to sell things to us.
• "Mother be strong and wait for me, please. I would be back as soon as you know it" I assured her, placed a kiss on her forehead, and ran out of the room.
• Getting out of the park was another issue because there were guards everywhere. I
• had to go through the woods where there are no guards.
• The journey to the next pack began as I started running. Since I'm wolfless, I couldn't shift so I had to run with my legs.
• The distance was long but I had no other choice. My mother was dying and I had to save her life.
• It took me hours to finally get to blood moon pack where I'm meant to get the drugs.
• I heaved a huge sigh of relief when I finally saw the border of the pack.
• I took series of breath to enable me continue and just as I wanted to cross the road into the pack, my shoe got stucked on a stick.
• Bending down to pull it out, I felt Something hit me hard on my rib. Snapping her head up, my eyes met with a black shinny car which obviously hit me.
• The pain was very much unbearable, it so much that I couldn't bear it.
• I felt my blood seeping out of me and I struggled to keep my eyes opened.
• Is this it? Am I going to finally die and leave this painful world full of hatred and anguish.
• The moon goddess has finally remembered me and maybe wants to end my sorrows.
• My breathe hitched, my body got so numb that I felt my spirit leaving them.
• I couldn't fight the pain and I couldn't keep my eyes opened no matter how hard I tried to keep them opened, it's still getting closed.
• I hope my mother would get better and be able to bear my demise. I pray she takes it with a strong mind.
• The door of the car opened and someone rushed out but before I could raise my eyes to see who it was, my vision blurred and I finally gave in to the pleasure of darkness, realising myself to it.
