Chapter 22

• Stevi began rooting around in one of her packs finally retrieving a couple of packets of what appeared to be some sort of dehydrated soup she'd been intending to fix for her dinner.
• "Communications." She offered. "Which was a part of what you witnessed earlier." She explained as she tore open one of the packets pouring the contents into a small pan she'd brought along with her. "As you're aware, several satellites are circling the earth. I'm working on a government project that uses laser light to send and retrieve information from one of those as they pass within range. It's experimental, so I'm up here doing a few tests."
• "Oh," Kevin responded. With his interest in astronomy, he was also very well aware of several satellites that passed by and could be easily seen in the night sky. He didn't recall being aware of any, nor had he seen any since his arrival. Which wasn't to say there weren't any of course, many of which could be passing during the daylight hours, or perhaps earlier when he'd first seen her pointing the blue-laser light to begin with.
