Chapter 3 Hitting A Hidden Reef
- However, the moment she bent down, Quintus abruptly stood up. In the blink of an eye, he had moved behind Eleanor. A handgun had appeared in his right hand, pressing firmly against Eleanor's temple!
- “Ha, Captain Fitzgerald!”
- A crazy gleam flickered in Quintus's eyes, and he grinned, saying, “You may not know yet, but your informant has already been captured by us! So, the information you received was completely false. I'll have you know that we're not smuggling drugs tonight, but firearms!”
- Right after he finished speaking, dozens of workers who had been squatting on the ground suddenly stood up. They flipped open the goods beside them and pulled out various advanced firearms, opening fire toward the police!
- Boom, boom, boom!
- The muzzle spewed tongues of fire, which were particularly glaring in the darkness.
- The police had already heightened their vigilance when Eleanor was captured, so when these people pulled out firearms, they immediately took cover behind barriers, avoiding casualties.
- But in doing so, they were now under the suppressive firepower of the opponents.
- Upon seeing the situation, Quintus beamed. He tightened his grip around Eleanor's neck and briskly walked toward the seaside.
- “Captain Fitzgerald, it seems I'll have to trouble you to be a hostage!”
- As he spoke, he had already taken Eleanor hostage onto a yacht, which was being operated by his two underlings.
- At that very moment, Eleanor was filled with immense anxiety.
- The primary reason for the failure of this operation was their misplaced trust in the information relayed by the informant.
- The fact that this group of criminals was not smuggling drugs this time, but rather firearms, truly caught everyone off guard.
- Whether transporting drugs or weapons, logically speaking, it should be done discreetly. So why did these people seem to intentionally lure them here?
- Eleanor narrowed her eyes, vigorously pondering the suspicious aspects of the whole situation.
- Quintus took out a rope and securely tied Eleanor, fastening her to a column at the stern of the boat.
- He turned and sat to one side, coldly staring at Eleanor.
- Beside Quintus, one of his lackeys gazed at the alluring curves beneath Eleanor's police uniform. Licking his parched lips, he asked, “Boss, can we just leave this girl like this?”
- Quintus sneered, “Look at you. You can't even walk away when you see a woman.”
- Quintus' gaze swept over Eleanor's chest, revealing an evil smile. “But our Captain Fitzgerald is indeed not comparable to those commonplace women. You may get a taste.”
- “How dare you!”
- Upon hearing these words, Eleanor immediately displayed a hint of panic on her pretty face at the stern of the yacht.
- She had been pondering the peculiarities of the whole thing and hadn't paid attention to her current situation.
- By the time she regained her senses, she realized that in the midst of the earlier scuffle, several buttons on her blouse had popped open to reveal her cleavage, leaving half her chest exposed.
- “What wouldn't a fugitive dare to do?”
- Quintus snorted coldly, his eyes dancing with intense malicious intent.
- He patted the lackey beside him and instructed, “Go to the front and switch places with Simon. I'll call you guys when I'm done!”
- “Sure!”
- Upon hearing the news, the lackey immediately rubbed his hands in excitement. Before leaving, he cast several reluctant glances at Eleanor, looking as if he couldn't bear to part with her. Eleanor was thoroughly disgusted.
- When the lackey left the cabin, Quintus coldly smiled and approached Eleanor.
- “Quintus you better not act recklessly!”
- Eleanor struggled to sit up, her eyes anxiously watching the approaching man.
- Quintus stretched his mouth into a grin, revealing a row of yellowed teeth. As he approached, he was simultaneously unbuckling his belt.
- “Captain Fitzgerald, we're old acquaintances, aren't we? We've crossed paths so many times, yet we've never determined a clear victor. How about we change the game today? Let me test your depths, and you can measure my length. Let's see who gets the last laugh. What do you say?”
- As he spoke, Quintus quickly approached Eleanor. Just as he was about to reach out his hand, the entire yacht suddenly jolted violently, as if it had hit something, making a loud bang.
- Bound by ropes, Eleanor merely swayed slightly. However, Quintus wasn't as fortunate. He was flung across the room, crashing headfirst into the wall. The pain was so intense that he couldn't help but cry out.
- He stood up and touched his forehead, only to see a hand full of blood. Instantly, he was consumed by uncontrollable rage.
- “F*ck it, how did you guys drive the yacht? Are you trying to kill me?”
- As he spoke, Quintus had already rushed out.
- The two lackeys in the cockpit were also left dazed and confused by the impact. Hearing their boss' furious roar, they immediately rushed out with pained expressions, explaining, “Boss, don't blame us. We've reached the deep sea. There shouldn't be anything below us, but...”
- “But what? Speak up!”
- Quintus glared at his two underlings, wishing he could slap one of them to death.
- “But it seems we hit a reef.”
- The two underlings exchanged a glance, their faces expressing utter helplessness.
- Hearing this answer, Quintus wished he could pull out his gun and shoot these two lackeys.
- This retreat route was planned early on. How could there possibly be hidden reefs? If one person said this, it could be overlooked, but b both are saying the same thing. Have they lost their minds?
- Just as he was about to lose his temper, a sudden sound of slapping against the hull echoed from the sea. In the dark and silent expanse of the ocean, it was incredibly clear, sending chills down one's spine.
- Quintus looked at the two henchmen, asking nervously, “What was that sound?”
- The faces of the two lackeys had turned slightly pale, and they gently shook their heads.
- Just as the three of them were at a loss, a sudden commotion echoed from the water. Following closely, a figure burst through the surface, landing in the cabin with a resounding thud.
- “Phew. Finally, I've managed to reach the shore. I'm absolutely exhausted!”
- As soon as the figure boarded the ship, he leaned against the cabin, gasping for breath heavily.
- Quintus and his two henchmen were already scared stiff. They had forgotten to breathe at this point.
- A person suddenly popped out from the ocean in the middle of the night. This was even more terrifying than a ghost story. They wondered if he was a human or a ghost.
- The two lackeys clung to each other in fear. After a brief moment of shock, Quintus was the first to regain his composure.
- He pulled out a pistol from his waist, walked to the man, and shouted, “What the h*ll are you, and where did you come from on the boat? Tell me quickly, or I'll blow your brains out!”
- Upon hearing these words, the man, who had a few seaweed stuck on him, froze instantly.
- He swept away the seaweed covering his face, revealing a rather handsome countenance. Surprised, he asked, “What are you talking about? Is this a ship? So I haven't come ashore yet? D*mn it!”
- The man suddenly sprang up, rubbing his crotch with a look of helplessness on his face. “I thought I had reached the shore, but why am I still in the sea? What on earth did I just bump into earlier? Wasn't it the cornerstone?”
