• Dwayne winced as he cleaned his wounds, the antiseptic stinging his battered skin. He had barely made it back to his house alive, his body aching from the ordeal. Being taken captive on his way back from Antonio's had been a harrowing experience, and he was still shaken.
• Just as he finished bandaging his cuts, a knock at the door broke the silence. Dwayne's heart raced as he cautiously approached the entrance, his hand on the doorknob. He hesitated for a moment before opening it, hoping against hope that it wasn't his captors coming to finish the job of killing him.
