Chapter 6 I Won't Abandon You

  • “Nicholas, do you know?”
  • Verne asked tentatively.
  • “Yes, I guessed it. I saw his visit in country m before, so I looked him up and found out that he lives in the same city as Mommy. We are so similar. It's easy to guess, isn't it?”
  • Nicholas was right.
  • The living room was so close that the two women looked at each other and guessed that it was no coincidence that they had met the man at the party.
  • Ding Dong
  • The doorbell rang again, and the soft, magnetic voice of the man said, “Hey, woman, let's talk.”
  • “Mommy, talk to Daddy.”
  • Nicholas pulls Cynthia's hand, eyes encouraging.
  • Edwina looked at her with watery eyes and said in a soft voice, “I think Daddy is a good man. He is so handsome.”
  • Cynthia's lips twitched.
  • Verne: “Good-looking is good?”
  • “Yes, my brother is also good-looking, is a good man.”
  • Edwina's reasoning was impeccable.
  • “Hey!”
  • The impatient voice of the man outside the door sounded, and he warned, “If you don't open the door, you'll have to change it.”
  • “Verne, you take them into the room, and I'll go out with him.”
  • Cynthia handed Edwina to Verne.
  • “Mommy, I'll go with you.”
  • Nicholas tugged at Cynthia's sleeve, wanting to see Daddy with her.
  • The woman was adamant: “No.”
  • “Mom...”
  • “I said no. Do you want to go with him and not me?”
  • Cynthia exploded.
  • After the words blurted out, she was completely dumbfounded, completely unable to believe that just said that the person would be himself, she actually shouted at Nicholas.
  • “Ooh...”
  • Edwina cried again, but this time with a flat mouth, a muffled cry, afraid that the noise would irritate Mommy.
  • Tears rolled down her face and soaked Verne's clothes.
  • “Edwina, don't cry. Your Mommy didn't mean it. It's... It's...”
  • Verne did not know how to explain.
  • “Mommy, I don't want you to leave. I just think that you can talk to Daddy. Edwina and I will definitely be on your side. We are your support and your confidence. We are on your own. I will not leave you.”
  • Nicholas choked up as he spoke. His tears fell one by one and smashed onto the ground.
  • Outside the door, a man was close to the door, listening carefully to the sound of the door, in the eyes of his men.
  • Although soundproof, but also vaguely heard two children crying, also heard Nicholas said I will not give up you.
  • “Hey Woman, don't misunderstand, I'm not here to snatch your child, I'm here to confirm something.”
  • He just wanted to confirm how this wicked woman had poisoned him and slept with him back then. Most importantly, she had gone missing after sleeping with him, so that he did not even have the chance to take revenge.
  • Bang Bang
  • The door knocked.
  • Cynthia reached out to wipe the tears from Nicholas's face. “I'm sorry. I shouldn't have lost my temper. I just... I just...”
  • She didn't know how to explain. She was a mother. How could she show her fear in front of her children.
  • “Mommy, Edwina, godmother, and I will go to the room first. We will wait for you. You can have a good chat with daddy. Don't be afraid. He also said just now that he doesn't want to snatch us away. Moreover, we are all grown up now. He can't snatch us away.”
  • Nicholas took Verne's hand and brought Edwina into the room.
  • Cynthia looked at the door, her mind full of the man's cold, dark eyes and the ferocity of the night that had been wreaking havoc on her.
  • “Hey Woman, if you don't open the door, it will be gone.”
  • The man's voice became overbearing and commanding, as if Cynthia were his slave.
  • Click
  • Cynthia pulls the door open.
  • Reginald was standing by the door. He raised his hand and met the woman's red eyes. He pulled back his hand and smiled devilishly. “Are you coming out?”
  • “Let's talk outside.”
  • Cynthia walked out and closed the door behind her.
  • The man sneered at his defensive posture, “Oh!”
  • What the F * ck!
  • Cynthia scoffed, but forced a smile. “Can we go?”
  • “Whatever.”
  • The man's cool, half-smiling demeanor was a little hard to fathom, which made Cynthia even more fearful.
  • She led the way, taking the elevator and getting into the man's luxury car.
  • “Just say it.”
  • Cynthia didn't know where to go.
  • “Drive.”
  • The Man's voice was faint as the driver started the car.
