- I looked down at the eight-hour old tattoo on my forearm. They’d figured out what was in the ink and it hadn’t been complicated, or thankfully, toxic in any way. It could be worse, I thought. At least it was simple, not an ugly design, even though it symbolized everything wrong with this situation. I held my arm in the air and looked at it again, it was always the same, no matter which way you looked at it.
- I felt when Michael walked into the armory. It was odd I always knew without looking. When I wasn’t getting ready to break spells and wards, I’d have to think about that. I glanced at him. Of course, he looked hot dressed in his warrior gear. That’s just what I didn’t need, hormones interfering when I needed to focus on my instructions.
