Chapter 30

• I paced in a circle, bouncing every few feet. Giving my arms a shake, I nodded to Daxx. She raised the pad again, bracing her feet for the hits. I stepped into it, threw a few jabs, then an elbow-jab combo. Pacing away, I rolled my shoulders.
• “I prefer the upper body warmup.” She said, her voice echoing through the earpiece in my ear.
• No one expected me to reply. I had the earpiece in just for distraction, so my nerves didn’t get to me.
