Chapter 31
- The kangaroo across from me danced around the edge of the platform, slowly working his way to the center. When he got close enough, I decided it was time to disable that hop of his. I swung my left hand, then as he went to block, I did a sweep of his legs. He was down. Before he could get up, I executed a quick crescent kick and clipped him in the jaw. He fell back, then rolled dangerously close to the edge.
- It was too soon to take him out though, I knew this. A dissatisfied crowd was more dangerous then the fight.
- He was back on his feet, not bouncing, as he came at me. He was mad, which I could also use to my advantage. Emotions had no place in a fight. With a growl he lunged and swung for my face. I blocked with my arm and jabbed him in the face with my other hand. Stepping out of the way of his next wild swing, I faked a side kick, then ducked to sweep his feet out from under him again. He went down hard this time.
