- Her claws nearly gouged her eyes out. Danica ended up face-down on the carpet to get away from her. Before she could get up, Audrey yanked her up and threw her to the settee. She saw the stars, and her back stung. The claws had scratched her skin.
- “Poor doggy, what are you gonna do now? Shake your tail?” she gloated. “Hoping for his highness to save you?”
- “Nobody has to save me.” She reached for her boots.
