• Coming out of the elevator, fiddling with her fingers, Betty took slow steps toward Melissa's office. She saw Damien walk out of there earlier and was so tempted to go ask what was wrong.
• Betty was almost connecting her fist against the door to knock on it when she heaved a deep sigh, stopping herself.
• Betty turned around and made her way to her office. It was a medium-sized office reserved for interns. She grabbed her phone from the table, unlocked it, and scrolled through her contact list. She dialed a number and waited patiently as it rang.
