Chapter 3 Off To Full Moon Pack

  • Jade's POV
  • "Ma'am," My reverie was broken by a soft voice of a woman.
  • I looked up to find the sweet air hostess who helped me make myself comfortable in the private airplane of Mr. Zavier Salvay. She's bought me a brewing black coffee. Its smoke watered my mouth.
  • I smiled at her and accepted the cup. "Thank you."
  • "Hope you are comfortable, ma'am. Enjoy your coffee, meanwhile I will get you a bag of warm water and some pain killers." She politely bowed after pouting at my bruised wrists.
  • "Thank you so much again." She left me alone with a sense of protection as I grazed her retreating figure.
  • This all would not have been possible if it wasn't for Mr. Zavier Salvay. The old man I bumped with. He is a billionaire. I have not noticed him before as I was too shocked to think of anything else other than my life and dignity.
  • But the man is one of the top most billionaires. I have seen his pictures in magazines and newspapers.
  • "Thank god," I closed my eyes, sipping a small gulp of black coffee.
  • I should be thanking Zavier Salvay because he not just helped me get out of Matteo's deathly grip— but he also listened to me and visited the back of the factory where all the girls were stored like stock.
  • They were in worse condition than what I had seen earlier. I failed to see blood and broken limbs hanging off girls' bodies.
  • "This is insane." I was busy shedding tears at the vision of poorly handled women in the back of my head when Mr. Zavier Salvay huffed deep from his chest.
  • Just as I thought, he was aware of the grooming factory. The activities that were taking place was a mystery to him. Even to the buyers who came to auction to buy women.
  • "I'll have the owners skinned alive." He asserted and his hand came around my shuddering shoulders.
  • I was shivering and on the verge of falling. So he sent me away with a chauffeur while he promised to be back soon. But before that, he helped me fulfill my wish of kicking that baldy that got me here into this place. I kicked his balls tightly before I left the venue.
  • Later when we reached the parking lot where Matteo was fuming in anger to see me going, I was clueless about the place I was being transported into as I saw Mr. Salvay's sports car.
  • The ride had been silent. My emotions surged when the car halted. The door was opened for me at the rear end of the airport and I was led to a private plane owned by Mr. Salvay.
  • It's only been twenty minutes since I came here. The pain and straining in my limbs have faded away. I am breathing freely and looking outside at the indigo sky with blinking big stars, winking down at me.
  • "I hate you dad. You are a greedy loser. You gave away your daughter for money. I hate you. Shame on a man like you." My insides jangled in torment as I played the staring game with the stars.
  • It's Friday morning now. Not long ago I was in a filthy place on Thursday night. A place my father happily sent me in for money. Even before that, I was in Mumbai, India. It was Monday evening when I left my flat with my father. It's almost been a week since my life has changed now.
  • "Pray that I don't run into you here forth... You will regret meeting me. Because I will put a knife in your throat and pull it out on the other side."
  • "That sounds like a bad way of dying." I was snapped from my thoughts by Mr. Salvay's voice.
  • "Thank you," He sat across me cozily and smiled.
  • "Are you okay?" He slowly raised his hand to caress my bruised wrists. "I honestly had no idea about that all, Miss?"
  • "Jade, sir. Jade..." Thornton, I wanted to introduce my surname too but I let it stay unsaid and smiled. "Just Jade."
  • Mr. Salvay withdrew his hand and sighed. The plane was ready to take off. We didn't utter a word until the plane was in the air. Also because I was nervous.
  • I've never been into a plane before. This is my first time flying— that too in a private jet. Mr. Salvay gave me my time. Once I was cognizant with the feeling of being in the mid air in a craft, he gazed at me and smiled.
  • "I've made all the necessary arrangements, Jade. The affected girls will be taken care of and I have also appointed a team that will raid such grooming factories. We will make sure no girl is sold like that again and nothing as what we found in this factory happens ever again." His face became colourless. "I have never seen anything so depressing before."
  • There was silence. It was his heavy breathing that cut the air and then his voice, "I am sorry that you have to go through that, dear. Forgive me."
  • "Please sir,"
  • "No dear, you have no idea what I feel right now." His expressions turned paler. "You will never know."
  • I kept aside my coffee and leaned forward. Hesitantly I took his hand to make him feel good, "It's okay, sir. You've saved so many lives today. You are a hero."
  • He gave a sad smile, "I am no hero, Jade. Well you don't even know that I am the ultimate reason why those girls and you ended up in that place."
  • "S-sir?" I swallowed my despair.
  • He was fretting me out now.
  • "It's me who granted them a certificate of commencement without verifying their sources of acquisition. Had I not thought about taxes and share of profits they'd pay, all those girls wouldn't be up in there." He said running hands through his hair.
  • I was feeling strange around him. The vibes of comfort all gone. He was acting strange. Most importantly, how could he grant certificates of commencement to those factories?
  • "Uh, s-sir, what do you mean by granting them a certificate?" I voiced. "Isn't that the job of the government? You're one of the businessmen like them, aren't you?"
  • When Mr. Salvay laughed strangely I should have prepared myself for a shocking revelation. But my body was relaxed until he disclosed, "I forgot you're a mortal, Jade. You wouldn't understand anything until you see who I am in reality."
  • Then he slightly rotated his head and shoulders. While I was staring at him he shifted into a werewolf.
  • "You're not in India, Jade. You were transported to a small island that's not even listed on Google maps— Which is a hub of necessities for beings like me— beings who are half human and half wolf." He said as his grown up teeth poked his lower lip.
  • I pulled my legs to my chest and hugged them tightly. It would have been better if I went to Matteo. At least, I wouldn't have to become a meal of a mythological beast.
  • Tears pooled my eyes. My lips shook in torment as I stared at him. I couldn't take my eyes off of him. I was scared— afraid that he might just clutch me in his mouth if I even so diverted my gaze.
  • "Do not fright, dear. I won't eat you."
  • "Promise me, you won't?" I asked in a meek voice.
  • Mr. Salvay turned back into a normal, full human. I released the breath I was holding and quietly sniffed as there was nowhere to go other than face him.
  • "I promise I won't." He smiled. "We don't eat humans, Jade."
  • Okay.. That was good to hear. But that still didn't mean I was safe.
  • Hence, I wiped my face and slowly whispered, "Where are you taking me?"
  • "To my pack located in New York, Full Moon Pack." He said whereas I continued sniffing, thinking about my life.
  • But at the same time I was excited. A new life was awaiting me.
  • Tbc...
